Jardins de Santa Luzia is a small bock of only 16 apartments, located in the heart of the tranquil and scenic fishing village known as the octopus capital of the Algarve. Local restaurants specialise in many different recipes of octopus (polvo) as well as various other local and traditional cuisine.
Apartment D is a spacious ground floor unit with accommodation suitable for 2-4 persons. It comprises of one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, large lounge/dining room with French doors leading to an elevated terrace overlooking the pool, fully fitted kitchen and luxury bathroom. The property benefits from a large salt water swimming pool (shared) and secure underground parking.
Three minutes walk to the waterfront and all amenities. The fabulous local beach of Terra Estreita is accessed by water taxi, (3min) and the Barrill beach is 2km and is reached by either beach train or taxi.

The lounge and twin bedroom have patio door access to the south facing balcony overlooking the pool. The double bedroom has patio door access to the large front terrace. Both bedrooms enjoy vast wardrobe space with full length mirrors. The lounge/diner has two large sofas, 2 coffee tables, side lamps, and a dining table with 6 dining chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave and washing machine. The bathroom has full size bath with overhead shower and bidet. There are freestanding fans for summer use and free standing heaters for the winter

The apartment has 2 terraces, the back terrace overlooking the pool has a table with six chairs, umbrella and two sun loungers and benefits from the sun throughout the day.
The 10 x 4 meter salt-water pool is an absolute delight and it is for the sole use of residents of the 16 apartments. The pool is cleaned regularly during the high season.
There is a secure underground parking with electronically operated door. There is a an allocated space for the apartment.
For the golf lovers among you there are many superbly designed courses within 30-40 minutes drive. Across the border in Spain there are even more spectacular courses to choose from.

25% non refundable deposit is payable on booking, with the balance payable 4 weeks prior to the arrival date.
A refundable breakage deposit of £75 required with the balance, to be refunded within 14 days of your departure, subject to satisfactory inspection of the property.

The Algarve / East Algarve region


Located on the tip of Europe with the vast Atlantic Ocean as its southern and western border, the Algarve region possibly enjoys the most temperate climate in Europe. There are over 100 beautiful sandy beaches and due to the maritime shelf and water currents the sea temperature can be often be surprisingly warm even in some of the winter months.
Eastern Algarve is a particularly beautiful and unspoilt region with spectacular views of Ria Formosa, a vast and protected nature reserve, a must for bird watchers . The area also boasts many beutiful and historic churches and the Moore influence can be witnessed in many of the castles and buildings in the region.
Spain is 40 minutes drive to the East and offers further adventures and spectacular golf courses. The historic city of Seville with its many attractions and ancient monuments is two hours drive away and can be accessed by coach directly from Tavira.
The Tavira / Santa Luzia, Tavira area
Santa Luzia is a small, traditional fishing village, also known as the octopus capital of the Algarve. The beautiful local beach of Terra Estreita is reached from the waterfront (3 min walk from the apartment), and is accessed by a short boat ride. The world famous Barril beach is 3 minute drive and accessed either by foot or little beach train.
The beautiful historic town of Tavira is 4km east of Santa Luzia, with shops, bars, fish, fruit and vegetable market. The river Gilao runs through the centre of the town, with many beautiful churches. Often in the summer evenings there is music and market stalls set up.
Many superb local golf courses are within easy reach. Benamor, Quinta de Cima, Quinta de Ria and Maragota (10 minutes) Castro Marim (25 minutes) To the West is Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo (40 minutes). The Spanish golf courses are approximately 45 minutes drive away.

Faro airport is 40 minutes drive by car. The Spanish border is 40 minutes to the East of Santa Luzia with the historic city of Seville 2 hours away. Taxi ride from the airport to Santa Luzia costs approximately 40 Euros.
Tavira can be reached by a short taxi ride or by bus from Santa Luzia. Bicycles can also be hired in Tavira for any period at reasonable prices.

Having taken 7 previous holidays on the Algarve we have now definitely found the best location for our family. When looking for a holiday we want : beach:pool:somewhere to go for a quiet drink and people watch. In Santa Luzia we found it all. The beach was perfect - you have to take the ferry. It takes no more than 5 mins to walk to the ferry. It was 7 euros return for 4 of us. The sea was perfect temperture-the warmest in the Algarve that we have found. Santa Luzia itself has bars and restaurants but not noisy. 1 Beer 2 glasses of wine and an ice tea 3.60 euros. Lots of restaurants - we didn't eat in any only because one of us is a vegetarian and very limited vegetarian choices. The apartment is spacious, cool with AC, perfectly positioned with underground parking - hate getting into a really hot car when its been sat in 30 degrees. Little shop a few doors down when you run out of anything. Lidl within 5 mins drive to get all shopping. If you do want to venture out Tavira is only just over 5 mins driving and very pretty with an amazing fish and fruit and veg market. We were met by Jocelyn who was extremely friendly and helpful with very good English. We cannot thank the owners enough for giving us the opportunity to find the perfect holiday location. |
