The North Island region

Volcanic hot pools and national parks, glow worm caves, The Timber Trail and the Tongariro Crossing; This region called The King Country is the green heart of New Zealand's North Island and some say the centre of the Southern Hemisphere,steeped in Maori history.

Close to the Waitomo Glow worm caves, and the region where the Pink and White terraces were once one of the natural wonders of the world.

Benneydale is the Gateway to the Timber Trail, 85km cycling through medieval rain forest. The Pureora Forest Park is a great base from where to explore blackwater rafting and canyoning in Waitomo, mountainbiking , hiking or cycling .

Tongariro Crossing, Ruapehu ski fields, Hobbiton and other LOTR scenery.

Close to Taranaki, Taupo and Rotorua you can visit the Taupo-Rotorua volcanic plateau with hot pools, geysers and national parks.
