Landhaus Tauplitz has a warm welcoming feel and is situated in the heart of the picturesque Alpine ski village of Tauplitz, within a 3 minute walk from the main lift station - ideal for Skiing in Winter or Hiking, Cycling and Golf in Summer.
Our summer Terrace overlooks the spectacular Grimming Mountain where we serve Coffee's, Teas, Latte's and the very special Zotter’s handcrafted chocolate drinks or alternatively a refreshingly cooled good wine or Murau beer. In winter our easy access to the Tauplitz ski area on Tauplitzalm has many pubs and restaurants for skiers. We also have many local restaurants within walking distance from Landhaus Tauplitz and further afield in our next village a wider variety to choose from- modern to traditional.

The Styria/Steiermark region
Steiermark is centrally situated in Austria ,and Tauplitz (900m) village was one of the first traditional ski resorts in Austria. The village is dominated by the Grimming Mountain to the south, the Gwendlingstein to the east and the Tauplitzalm to the north, all of which provide their own stunning scenery which surrounds the area...

Tauplitz offers wonderful views, with interesting, varied and enjoyable skiing. It is also well-known in Austria as being very snow sure, sitting in its own 'snow-pocket' The 19 lifts open up 40Km of expertly groomed pistes to suit skiers and riders of all abilities, whilst the extensive off-piste potential is there to be explored by those wanting further challenges.
The Tauplitz Ski Pass includes four regions for skiers and a short drive away is the renowned Schladming-Dachstein skiing area.
An excellent "Langlauf" (Cross Country) area within walking distance from Landhaus Tauplitz is on our doorstep.
As Golf Partners of the Weissenbach, Pryhn Priel and Schladming-Dachstein courses we offer special Green Fee rates to our guests and are in the midst of the most stunning ‘hiking and biking” routes.
Culturally a rich area with many local Winter and Summer traditional celebrations which are performed for and by the local inhabitants of the villages as opposed to being a tourist attraction. Music and Flower Festivals are a feature of the Summer season and each day our guests receive an activity calender listing the various attractions. An authentic unspoilt Austrian village!
How to get there
By air……………………
There are three airports that service Tauplitz………
Salzburg - There are regular flights from the UK with Ryanair,Sky Europe and Thomsonfly. - 130 km from Tauplitz and a 1 hour 35 minute drive from the airport.
Linz- There are flights to Linz on Ryanair from the UK. - 138 km from Tauplitz and a 1 hour 40 minute drive from the airport.
There are also flights to Vienna (2.5 hours), Graz (1hour 50) and Munich (3.5 hours).
We can arrange a return airport transfer service from the airport terminal’s to Tauplitz. Alternatively, if you wish for a bit more flexibility allowing you to fully explore the surrounding areas during your stay in Tauplitz, we can recommend a car hire company.
By Car……Directions in Tauplitz……………………….
To reach us from the main road (E145), take the exit signposted Tauplitz and follow the road up the hill.... Summer route: After a short distance you will see a road on your left, take this turning and follow the road up the hill until you see the Sporthotel Hechl on your right, immediately on your left there is a narrow and tight turning.You will find Landhaus Tauplitz, 100m along this road on your right. The car park is directly opposite. Winter route: Continue up the hill (passing ADEG supermarket & Tourist Information) until you reach Cafe Wahnsinn. Take the next left turn (with the Sportalm Nightclub on the corner), and follow the road up the hill until you reach the village centre, following the road round to the left. You will pass the Tauplitzerhof hotel on your left and shortly after this you will see a narrow and tight turning to the right.You will find Landhaus Tauplitz, 100m along this road on your right. The car park is directly opposite.
Rail……………….We can assist you with rail reservations from your arrival airport to Stainach Station or Klachau Station, Tauplitz.

Further details indoors: Our apartment is 80 square meters in size and consists of 2 bedroom's that are en-suite with showers and WC's, an entrance hall and kitchen area with a corner dinette and separate lounge area with a television.
Lovely views over the Grimming Mountain from the terrace or apartment windows.

Landhaus Tauplitz is owner run with fluent English and German to assist all guests. Coming from a travel and tourism background we can assist with all reservations, bookings, transfers and sightseeing recommendations. We assist with Ski Passes and helping guests with their fitting of ski equipment in the Ski Shop. When necessary we run a shuttle service to te slopes although a 3 minute walk to the lift station. We are also in the heart of the "Langlauf" Cross Country area in winter and assist with recommendations of the runs.
Summer hiking information and cycling information is given in your Welcome Pack.
We can offer a fresh bread and roll service to guests in the Apartment from our in house baking facility. Assistance with Grocery ordering.
Conditions
10% non-refundable deposit required to confirm the reservation and balance due 4 weeks before arrival. Payment is required in Euro's.
