The Heart of England / Peak District / Lincolnshire region
Set in 360 acres of woodland and lakes this site has it all. From fishing, walking, biking and golf to the extreme watersports of jetskiing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding and kayaking. There are plenty of places to relax, maybe on one of the two private deckings at the lodge or maybe on the terrace at the clubhouse or enjoy the live entertainment in the evening. Eating is easily sorted with three different eating places on site one of which is at the very impressive Faiways Restaurant where there is a large indoor play area for the children to play whilst waiting for meals to be prepared or while you enjoy a social drink. Tattershall is situated in the heart of Lincolnshire. This is a rural county on the east coast of England, which is home to over a million people. It enjoys a mild climate with low rainfall, and some of the flattest terrain in the country.
Lincolnshire's seaside area is called the funcoast and when you visit you will see why. With towns like Skegness, Mablethorpe, Chapel St. Leonards, Ingoldmells, Sutton on Sea and Trusthorpe. You will find resorts with award winning beaches, fabulous fun, knockout nightlife and the picturesque market towns.
Ingoldmells is colourful, fast and exciting! If you are a fearless roller coaster rider take a trip on the Millennium Roller Coaster at Fantasy Island, the longest looping coaster in Europe; or Jubilee Odyssey the world's longest suspended roller coaster with the steepest drop in Europe. There's an amazing array of theme park rides, thrills and experiences just waiting to be discovered as well as spectacular shows for kids. Take a break from the rides and wander around the vast market at Ingoldmells, the largest market in Europe that is open seven days a week. Also located in Ingoldmells is the fabulous re-developed Butlins with its majestic dome of the Skyline Pavilion. It is a fantastic day out for the family. Butlins offers all weather multi-sports courts, the Fun Splash, the Odeon Cinema, a fantastic array of foods, and more. If you fancy a quieter day out then Hardy's Animal Farm is a firm favourite, you will find little furry friends, birds and farm creatures as well as an adventure play park for kids.
Skegness - Lincolnshire's premier resort, with an award winning six mile long beach and many superb attractions. Two fun fairs, gardens, golf courses, theatres, ballrooms, swimming pools and bowling greens. The Illuminations - from mid summer, you can enjoy the spectacle of the illuminations setting the sea-front alight with colour and festivities. The Embassy Centre Theatre, Grand Parade - an entertainment centre, with superb star name shows every night of the season. Natureland Seal Sanctuary, North Parade - a specialised collection of animals including a seal sanctuary. Skegness Stadium, Orby - stock car and banger racing every Wednesday evening.
North of the park is Lincoln, once visited you will see that few cities can match Lincoln’s mixture of ancient and modern. True, your first view of the city will be dominated by its glorious, honey-coloured cathedral perched high on a limestone escarpment – and if it’s cobbled streets, tranquillity and a good dose of Roman and Medieval history you’re after, head straight up the hill towards it. There is nothing more relaxing than a leisurely stroll around the Brayford Waterfront. Don't forget to stop at the sculptures or enjoy the area from the public viewing deck. This area offers a diverse range of restaurants. You will find both formal and informal venues here, depending on your occasion. Venues vary from a traditional British chained pub to more unique restaurants. All dining venues offer good quality food at reasonable prices. Two companies operate boat trips each take passengers to the West of the City.
With many other towns and attractions to see this is an area definitely worth a visit.
Tattershall area
Tattershall is situated on the southern edge of the Wolds, an attractive town dominated by its castle.
Tattershall Castle - built by the 3rd Lord Cromwell and restored in this century, is a magnificent medieval red brick tower, and a landmark of the Fens, which can be seen for miles around. This 14th century fortified house, now in the care of the National Trust, is a splendid example of medieval brick building.
Adjoining Tattershall is the village of Coningsby.
Coningsby - home to a busy RAF base, as well as the historic aircraft of the Memorial Flight. Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre - a living tribute to all RAF air and ground crew who gave their lives in World War II. A Lancaster, Dakota, two Hurricanes and five Spitfires can be seen in their hanger.
The Church of St. Michael - is notable for its huge and unique single-handed clock face. The face is 16.5 feet in diameter, the largest one-handed clock face in the world.
