Villa Laurus is a beautiful villa of traditional style set in a commanding position in this enchanting resort. Just a few steps away from its private terrace is one of the many pools set in beautiful landscaping. The villa is a very well appointed, luxury three bedroom, two bathroom detached property with a total gross internal area of 149.9sq.m.
The villa is of award winning design. The principle on which it was designed was to allow all living space to flow together whilst cleverly creating a sense of defined areas. There are no doors downstairs and the large windows and shutters allow air to flow freely through the villa. All living areas relate to the private terrace and a balcony above gives a lovely airy and quiet outdoor space off the upper hall. The entrance hall is double height with curved stair. Discreetly to one side is an area for shoes etc and a downstairs wc. To the left as you enter the villa, the large double aspect lounge opens out with large arched windows to take advantage of the elevated view over the Taurus mountains. Walk to the right past the stair and the kitchen and dining area open up with views both sides and large double doors onto the terrace. Upstairs the master bedroom bedroom with en-suite is isolated from both the double and twin bedrooms rooms which share their own large bathroom with separate shower cubicle. The interiors are modern but with local Turkish flavour.
The property comprises –
Ground floor: A beautifully spacious lounge, approximately 31 sq. m with doors leading out onto the large terrace and landscaped gardens. A bright, airy dining area designed open plan to the kitchen, again with doors to terrace. A very well appointed kitchen complete with all white goods, oven, hob, hood, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine. Leading from the kitchen is a utility area and also on the ground floor is a cloakroom area with w/c.
First floor: A bright, large master bedroom with king-size bed and en suite bathroom with power shower. There is also one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and spacious family bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle with power shower.
The property has ceramic floors throughout and fully tiled bathroom and cloakroom areas. Concealed and individually controlled air conditioning provides heating and cooling facilities to the living areas and bedrooms. Chairs and a table are provided as well as sunbeds for the terrace. The pools are round 10m diameter with jacuzzi jets. There is also one large pool in the central area of the site.
Private parking is provided right beside the villa which easily would accommodate 2 cars.

The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region
The Turkish Riviera is set in one of the best locations in the world, surrounded by ancient cities and a turquoise sea, and is looked upon as the new face of Turkish tourism. Away from the beach front you can find beautiful National Parks with magnificent waterfalls and flora. Perhaps you would prefer mountaineering, caving, white water rafting, hunting or fishing - you choose. Turkey is possibly one of the very few countries in the world where you can go skiing in the morning and swimming in the sea in the afternoon!
Approximately 10 minutes drive from the resort beautiful sandy beaches are available to enjoy and for the active to embrace the many water sports on offer. Paragliding, water skiing, jet skis, underwater diving and yachting are just some of the activities in the area.
Side – (pronounced see-day)
Just 20 minutes from Augustus Village you can visit the beautiful and bustling town of Side, situated on a peninsula one kilometre long and four hundred metres wide. The name Side in the Anatolian language means “pomegranate”. Here you can indulge your hunger of times gone by with the abundance of historic monuments, museums, the superb Side theatre where the annual festival of the area is held, and the magnificent grandeur of Apollo's Temple almost stretching into the arms of the sea.
For the more adventurous you can try diving, horse riding, jeep safari, white water rafting, quad bike safari and skiing, along with the usual beach sports – volleyball, wind-surfing, para-sailing, water skiing, jet- skiing and banana boat rides.
If you are looking for nightlife as part of your holiday then there are an abundance of bars and restaurants in Side ranging from full on nightclubs to quiet traditional Turkish eateries.
Belek and golf
For guests, who are enthusiastic golfers, this area is your oyster. Belek is now home to 15 championship golf courses designed by famous names including Montgomerie, Feherty and Faldo. The quality of the courses has given Belek serious international golfing credibility and ensures that golfing in Turkey is a fantastic experience. With a target of opening more than 100 courses, Turkey aims to become the golfing centre of Europe. Courses are easy to book and as a keen golf enthusiast the owner will be more than happy to provide advice.
Fizz Beach bar/restaurant(10 mins)
Take the free shuttle bus to Fizz beach and enjoy a huge range of water sports, from jet skis to banana boats and parasailing, beach volley ball and swimming, there is everything here to keep adults and kids entertained. The beach here is great for kids, as it has a very gentle decent and is free of rocks or stones. Sun beds are free to use for customers of the bar/restaurant. In the evening the lively bar/restaurant serves great food and has theme nights such as Turkish night and BBQ night. A free shuttle is available for both day and evening visits.
There are 2 beaches at Side, one on either side of the harbour. The east side beach is more busy and narrow, servicing the many small & big hotels along this stretch. On the west side there is lots of space and a very wide beach. There are some beach bars and cafes for you to take a break from the rays, or just relax and watch the sun set over the sea.
Belek Beach Club
Located 20 mins east of Augustus Village is Belek beach club. Here there is also a vast aray of watersports, cafes and beach bars.
White Water Rafting & Canyoning.
Our most popular day, this is an exhilarating experience and one you will want to do again and again.
Just 4 km from Augustus Village is "Hipnotics", the worlds 2nd largest wake boarding park. Free transfer available daily.
Why not take a ride through a pine forest and then back along the beach as the sun sets. Transport included.
For the kids there are numerous aqua parks in the area. Check with our tourism rep for the best recommendation this season.
Take a trip into the mountains and enjoy an exhilarating experience quad biking through spectacular scenery.
Special Places of Interest
Manavgat waterfall –
One of the best known waterfalls in Turkey is located on the Oymapinar dam road, 3 km from the town of Manavgat. This is a particularly lush area with three good sized rivers to provide water. The average capacity of the river here is 155m3 per second.
Duden and Kursunlu waterfall –
The waterfall is on one of the tributaries of the Aksu river and, nestling in the middle of a pine forest, is exceptionally beautiful. The countryside around the falls provides a lovely picnic area and pleasure spot and is just 30 minutes from Augustus Village. Kursunlu offers a unique experience of being able to walk behind the cascade. Its claim to fame is that it was used in the television advertisement for Timotei shampoo.
About one third of Turkey is underlain by carbonate rocks. The intense rock stratum is spread almost all over Turkey. It is found particularly in the regions of the Taurus Mountain Range. In the town of Alanya lies the cave of Dalmatas, which contains spectacular stalactites and stalagmites and the moist atmosphere is said to relieve asthma and chest complaints.
Places of Historical Interest –
Here you will find the ruins of the once magnificent theatre, a u-shaped stadium which is still in a very good state of preservation, a Gateway and the remains of the wall that surrounded Perge in the Hellenistic period.
Perge is the second biggest ancient city in Anatolia and is situated in the district of the town of Aksu. The ruins of the city are vast and although excavations started in 1946 today the city has still not been fully uncovered.
Just 10 minutes from the resort you can find the best preserved ancient theatre in Turkey, built with a seating capacity of around 20,000 and one that is still in use today. During the summer months you can attend a concert, ballet or opera depending on the current programme for the season. This is truly an opportunity not to miss. Aspendos also offers views of a once magnificent aqueduct, constructed in Roman times around the 1st or 2nd century A.D.
Although Antalya is today a modern city there are still traces of old Turkey that are worth searching for. The Hidirlik tower stills stands and the Karatay Medresse, an ancient castle overlooking the harbour with its old houses nestled inside. If the region's art and history is for you then you must visit the Antalya Museum.

"Quiet, relaxing, excellent villa and complex."
We stayed in July and it was an excellent holiday. The villa, complex and people in neighboring villas were lovely. Very quiet, able to sit and read by the pool for long periods in +40 heat and then g… More
Thanks for your very positive review - very good of you.
Really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the villa and the complex and got on so well with the neighbours - there are a lot of owners who visit frequently which makes for a very friendly environment.
As you say it is best to hire a car although we have had some guests who have been very happy just staying on the complex with the odd visit to the shops or taxis to restaurants - personally I like to get out and visit the surrounding area as there is a lot to see!
Great to hear that you plan to return and look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks again and all the very best for now

We're glad that you really enjoyed your stay at our villa and it was very pleasing to hear that your children made friends on site - we have always found the complex to be a very friendly place!
You certainly got to see the surrounding area and I couldn't agree more about the big hotels - we much prefer a villa where you can feel more at home.
Thanks again and as you mentioned to me hope to hear from you again in the future some time.

"Beautiful villa with quiet location"
We had a great holiday. We hired a car at the airport and we managed to find the villa by following the notes. We did initially miss the turning after Tasagil as it was dark but we found it the second time round as we realized there was a shell petrol on the opposite side of the road. We got there slightly early but the security guards were very helpful and they let us into the villa so we could put our bags down plus the previous occupants had left it tidy.
At about 12pm the cleaner came and a few staff members came to say hello and to introduce themselves. The downstairs bathroom had something which was leaking. They immediately sent someone to fix it. All the staff present was friendly. It was a great time for us to go as the location was very quiet and we had the pool to ourselves for the first seven days and it was a nice getaway from all the loud markets and stalls in the busier Antalya. This site was also very close to side/manavgat/aspendos and perge which was a bonus as we were visiting the ruins in these sites. Gebiz was also very close to the villa where we booked our quadbiking with an agency in antalya. We also met a friendly woman at the bottom of the road from the villa just before you turn into the d400 who was selling boiled sweetcorn on the cob with salt.
We did all our shopping from migros which we found using the notesprovided. We managed to get everything we needed from here. Although we decided to get fruit from the stalls outside in markets as it worked out cheaper.
The website you provided us with was also helpful as it gave us a list of recommended restaurants in the area and even told us where the nearest burger king was.
Everything went quite smoothly, we managed to find all the sites we were looking for. The furthest we travelled was to pamukkale and kas. Fethiye was also a location we could drive to as it was closer to us than pamukkale but we didn't have the time.
Petrol prices had massive differences in price. The international names like bp/shell were the most expensive. But the local turkish named petrol pumps were a lot cheaper.
Overall the villa was perfect for us as a family of 6 and we really enjoyed our stay. And the notes you provided alongside the website made things a lot easier for us. Thank you for helping us have a great holiday Colin. We would definitely recommend you.
Thanks very much for your review and your kind words.
It was good to hear that the staff pulled out all the stops when you arrived in the early hours of the morning rather than as expected in the afternoon - they are always keen to help out guests in any way they can.
You certainly took advantage of the location in terms of sightseeing and it was pleasing to know that the notes and website details that we provided were helpful.
Great news that you would recommend us and thanks again for renting our villa.

"A very relaxing place to stay"
The villa is beautiful and very spacious. It is very well appointed with everything you would need for a self catering holiday. It was great that one of the smaller pools was just by the villa and the main pool complex with the bar and shop only a very short walk away! I would definitely recommend having a car as you would be restricted without one. We enjoyed exploring the local area and I would recommend the white water rafting which can be booked via the complex, it is brilliant fun and children from the age of 5 can take part! Fizz beach is only a 10 min drive away and has loads of water sports available. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday and one I would recommend.
Thanks very much for your review and it was great to hear that you liked our villa so much and that it had everything that you needed for your holiday. I couldn't agree more about the benefits of having the smaller pool available right at the villa but with the main complex pool still only 100 metres away.
Great also to hear that you enjoyed the available local activities - there is certainly plenty to do if you want to get out and about!
Thanks again and all the very best.

"Fabulous house in a great part of Turkey."
If you are looking for a holiday which offers a good blend of culture, activity and relaxation, look no further. This part of Turkey is relatively undiscovered and yet has more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in Turkey. Augustus Village is well maintained and friendly. The swiming pools were imaculate and the nearest one to the villa is just a few metres. The villa was fabulous. Clean, and well equiped. Plenty of crockery and glasses so you are not constantly washing up! If you are looking for a good day out go canyoning and white water rafting. Book with Fortune rafting. They are highly qualified and are the only company who offer canyoning which is a must. You will have the best day and all for £24 per head including lunch and transport. Aspendos is another recommend if you want to see a well preserved amphitheatre. The markets and beaches and golf are also very easy to get to, making Augustus village a fantastic ocation. Thank you Colin and Anna for allowing us to use your lovely house. We may well be back!
Thank you very much for your review and we were very pleased to hear how much you enjoyed staying at our villa. When we furnished the villa we tried to think of things that were missing that left us frustrated when we rented holiday homes and then sought to ensure that the same frustrations wouldn't apply to our guests when renting our villa!
It was pleasing to see how much you enjoyed the complex and the activities in the surrounding area - there really is scope to have as leisurely or active a holiday as you desire!
Great to hear that you may well stay in our villa again should you return to Turkey!
Thanks again for all your kind comments

Hi Monique and John
Thank you very much for your kind comments and we were very pleased to hear how much you enjoyed staying at our villa. It's great that you were able to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at the complex - it was also good to hear how friendly you found the staff at the bar area - they have always made us feel very welcome when we visit our villa.
I would also agree with your comments on golfers if they don't want to stay in the "big hotel" world of Belek but prefer to stay a little closer to the tourist resort of Side while still not having too far to drive to play golf.
Great to hear that you will stay in our villa when you return to Turkey again!
Thanks again for all your kind comments

"Holiday in Turkey"
We had a fantastic holiday and a thoroughly relaxing time. The villa was stunning and the standard of furnishings was very high for a holiday rental including a king size bed in the master bedroom. Overall the villa had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. We particularly enjoyed being only five metres from one of the nine swimming pools on the complex and the large sun terrace was great for having breakfast etc.
The main complex pool is top notch with stunning views over the Taurus mountain range – a very nice place to relax in the afternoons and a saviour after a hot day out! I understand that the complex has won awards for its design which is based on the old Ottoman houses that you will see if you travel out to the local villages. One should consider hiring a car as it isn't easy to get around using local transport and the local cabs charges vary a lot. It is fairly easy to find your bearings as the main highway is only minutes from the complex and very easy to get to while at the same time you feel like you are well away from all of the hustle and bustle. TV channels at the complex are somewhat limited but if you are taking a holiday to watch TV you might as well stay at home! For the sports fan most of the local bars and restaurants have the sports channels!
We found the staff on-site to be extremely helpful and very friendly and we spent a number of enjoyable evenings in the complex bar which is very reasonably priced. It is also cheap to eat out and if you have a car plentiful restaurants are easy to get to. We believe that some restaurants will come and collect you but as we had a car we didn't need this. All in all a great holiday and a complex that we will definitely return to!
Thanks very much for your review and we are very pleased to hear how much you enjoyed staying at our villa.
You are correct - the complex has won design awards and I have not seen anything similar in the surrounding area. You are also spot with your advice re hiring a car - it really is very easy to travel around the surrounding area and cars can be rented from the resort management team who also arrange transfers from the airport.
Great to hear that you plan to return to our villa in the future and it was also great to hear that you found the staff to be so helpful and friendly!
