The Costa Dorada/Tarragona region

Tarragona / Segur de Calafel area
Segur de Calafel is in the centre of the COSTA DORADA, 50 km south of Barcelona and 35 km nort of Tarragona. The beach of Segur is 2 km of fine golden sandy beach. In the last years the beach was widened artificially over 50 meters so children and elderly can bathe safely.
There is a new beach promenade streching 2400 m full of supermarkets, shops and restaurants The town boasts its own discotheque and marina bars provide ample entertainment at night. In summer all water activities are available on the beach. There are also Golf, Tennis and watersports clubs in the proximity.
The largest tourist attraction open all year around," Port Aventura" is only 35km away. Villa Franca with its vine routes is about 25 minutes drive.
How to get there
Fly Ryanair to Reus Airport 20-25min drive. Fly Easyjet, BA, Iberia to Barcelona Airport 30min drive.
Take a train from Barcelona airport to Barcelona Sants, change for the train direction St Vicenc. Travel to Segur de Calafel. Avenue Luis Companys is running parallel with the railway. Journey time 50 min.
The Costa Daurada is linked to the rest of Catalonia, Spain and to Europè bt three major motorways: The C-32 motorway between Barcelona to El Vendrell, the Mediterranenan Motorway (AP-7), which runs from the French border at La Jonquera to Alicante province and the south of Spain, and the North Motorway (AP-2) that links the Basque Country with Barcelona and the North of Catalonia, via Tarragona province.
Other important roads are the National Highways N-240 to Lleida and Zaragoza, the N-420 to Teruel and Zaragoza (via the eastern counties) and the N-340 which comes from Barcelona and follows the Mediterranean coast to the south of Spain. In addition there is a good network of secondary roads joining the different towns and villages of the Costa Daurada.
