From the owner

Culmer Cottage is located in the middle of a small Bahamian settlement on the beautiful out island of Eleuthera, the Bahamas. Tarpum Bay is a fishing village located nearly in the middle of this long narrow island. The sea is clear, the snorkeling fantastic, fishing of all kinds is available. My cottage sleeps four comfortably with a queen sized bed in one bedroom and a double in the second. Both bedrooms have sea views. and a deck to enjoy sunsets. There are two bathrooms; one on each floor. The cottage is fully equipped and easy to maintain. Laundry facilities are included. There is a houskeeper who can cater food, and her husband is a charter fisher and my caretaker.

We are 1/2 block up from the sea so the sand fleas don't bother you. Island breezes cool the house,The fish dock with fresh catch is a block away. Enjoy ocean views from every room!

There is free wifi, a phone for local use, and cable HDTV.

Grocery and restaurants are close by. I can arrange a car so that you can visit all of Eleuthera's beautiful, unspoiled, uncrowded beaches. Experience life in the REAL Bahamas, you won't be disappointed!

    Please treat my cottage as your own. Keep shoes off the furniture and hang up wet towels and bathing suits on the line. Make sure you do not leave uncovered food on the counters or in the bedrooms. If you are cooking fish, close all doors as this is the only time flies are a problem! Enjoy the house and the island.     Thank you Allison. I am glad you and your family enjoyed Culmer Cottage and Tarpum Bay. It is a special island with special people. Because I tried to preserve the historical construction and character, I did not make my house into a fancy modern house which would have necessitated changing the footprint. So my house is a seaside cottage with some charm. Glad you enjoyed it!

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

    You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Lynn (the owner) a message.

    If Lynn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
