Home description
A truly unique luxury villa - a paradise - for holiday rental in Tarifa situated on the south eastern corner of the Iberian Peninsular enjoying an elevated position with magnificent gardens sloping down to the sea and with extraordinary views across the Straits to Morocco.
The main single storey house offers spacious accommodation primarily for 2 people; an extensive living area with vaulted ceiling, wide covered terraces with picture windows, an American style open kitchen with dining area and an intimate master suite with en suite bathroom.
Across a small patio is an Indonesian themed informal ´chill out´ (second) living area with its own small kitchen/barbecue area to the rear and two further bedrooms and bathrooms, one en suite.
An infinity pool. Down towards the stables/paddock is a wooden bungalow which houses the 4th bedroom suite and its small living area/kitchen, best suited to teenagers who want their own space. There´s a niche or quiet corner for everybody in the 2 acres of gardens and a narrow pathway leads down to an equally secluded beach.
Overall occupancy can be raised to 8 adults & 4 kids by using various sofa beds and a lounge in the churinguito as long as the kids are not fussy about their private space. A live in couple provides daily cleaning and food preparation.
It´s probably as close to an island retreat as one can get on the Spanish mainland.

The Costa de la Luz / Cadiz Province region
The Costa de la Luz is the last remaining unspoilt coastline with crystal clear seas, golden sandy beaches and wide open spaces; a popular destination for Spaniards and foreigners alike. It is literally the 'Coast of Light'. You can wake up and breakfast to dazzling sunlight playing on the rippling sea and after a hard day on the beach sip cocktails watching the most amazing sunsets.
Apart from a few rainy days in October/November or March/April, winters are mild with temperatures still reaching 18 degrees C in December and January. In a sheltered spot you can sunbathe year round. A cold day is when the temperature drops to 12 degrees! From May through to September it's warm and sunny with maximum temperatures up to 35 degrees occasionally.
If you enjoy driving, you'll love the traffic free roads and wide open countryside and exploring the many 'White Villages' in their hilltop positions with commanding views all around. Vejer, Benalup, Medina Sidonia and Arcos de La Frontera are all short drives from the coast. Further inland is an area like the Lake District - Sierra de Grazelema - the wettest part of Spain within the Parque de Alcornocales - the most extensive cork oak forest in Europe.
In the old fishing villages like Tarifa, Barbate and Conil tuna fishing takes place every spring using the exact same methods as the Phoenecians centuries ago.
Everywhere there are signs of the past, best seen at the Roman Ruins in Baelo Claudia and the Moorish castle in Tarifa.
Tarifa / Punta Paloma area
Tarifa is 'The Adventure Capital of Europe' and a mecca for windsurfers and kite surfers.
There are no English bars and restaurants. No cinema or theatre.
But if you enjoy extreme sports, outdoor pursuits and the simple things in life - walks along the beach or bird watching in the countryside or whale watching -and want to get back to nature, you'll love Tarifa, the surrounding area and the people here.
When you're bored with Tarifa, you're probably getting bored with life.
The old town - 'Casco Antiguo' - is a warren of narrow white cobbled streets, opening on to delightful small squares, with a 'Tapas' bar on every corner and restaurants offering the best of local produce. 'Organic' must have been invented here as it's all the local market and spice shops have ever sold.
There's an old Moorish castle, recently renovated, a colourful fishing harbour (no luxury yachts here) but with daily whale watching trips and regular fast ferries to Tangiers just 35 mins away.
Just a few kms out of town are some of the best and cleanest beaches in Europe with plenty of room for everybody, even in the Summer; with windsurfers, kitesurfers and sunbathers each respecting their zones. No laying out your towels and bagging a sun bed here; there aren't any.
You'll find a guide to all this and more in the property along with the latest copy of Costa de La LUz Vida magazine.
Local activities include golf, tennis, water sports, diving, whale watching, fishing, bird watching, horse riding, hiking, rock-climbing, mountain biking, quad biking, hang gliding and microlite flying
