About the home

2 bedroom apartment with large lounge containing 2 sofa's and armchair. Dining area with table and chairs. Fully fitted kitchen with full size cooker and fridge/freezer, microwave andtoaster. Large pine dresser containing ample plates dishes glasses and cutlery for 5 people. Bathroom with walk in luxury shower and soft towels. Private roof terrace with loungers, sofa, chairs and dining table. A bbq is provided for those romantic evening meals taken whilst enjoying the views.A spiral staircase leads to the gardens and pool area. Ample parking and lock up storage area for surfing equipment.9km easy drive to Tarifa with its long sandy beaches and water sport facilities, near enough to come and go and far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet.
There are many places of interest in the area including the stunning roman ruins at Bolonia. Horse riding is available locally, and hill walking is very popular. The area is known to be of extreme interest to bird watchers and many varieties can be spotted from the garden.
All in all the property is ideal for wind and kite surfers who do not want to stay within the town of Tarifa, with its late night bars and nightclubs. We also have additional accommodation available in the main house.

In summer time weekly rental is preferable saturday to saturday but we can be flexable. Wintertime shorter flexable bookings are considered.
30% deposit is required to be paid into english bank a/c before booking can be fully accepted.
Balance of payment is required on arrival with an 100euro returnable breakages deposit.
If the apartment is left in a bad condition a cleaning fee will be charged.
Please ask for additional accommodation if required.
Cancellation charges will apply.

Conditions

For party bookings we can accommodate 4 people in the main house, ( 2 en suite rooms, 1 double and 1 twin.) 5 people in an upstairs private apartment (1 double room and another room with double and single bed) and the apartment as advertised with double bedroom, single bedroom and 2 sofa beds in lounge. Making it possible to accommodate parties of up to 14 people. Special rates apply.

The Costa de la Luz region

Costa de la luz has both meditteranean and atlantic coastlines, giving both rocky beaches and 76 miles of golden sandy beaches between tarifa and cadiz. The climate is ideal with sea breezes keeping the hotest days bearable. Sunshine is unlimited in this most southern point in Europe. The cities of Cadiz, Seville and Jerez are all within a days visit, reachable by local bus and car. the area is full of history and stories of romans and moors, which is evident in the local towns and villages.
Gibraltar is within a 35 minute drive and well worth a day out.
Algeciras has a waterpark about a 15 minute drive away.
World famous kite surfing location.

The Tarifa / El Cuarton area

Tarifa itself is an ancient walled town with many buildings of interest and even a moorish castle. The Med
meets the Atlantic in Tarifa and this provides the ideal water conditions to give Tarifa the reputation of the windsurfing capital of Europe. There are numerous festivals and feasts in the area, each town and village holding its own.
Every autumn thousands of soaring birds, principally storks and raptors, cross the Straits of Gibraltar on their southward migration into Africa. The spectacle of thousands of Honey Buzzards, hundreds of Booted Eagles, Black Kites and White Storks and a large assortment of scarcer species is a phenomenon which draws many birdwatchers to the southern tip of Europe.The beauty of this area is that, in addition to the migration, there are many other interesting species to be found in the mountains, wooded hills, lowlands, marshes and coast
The ferry runs from Tarifa to Tangiers, a journey boasted to be of 35 minutes, (I would take the timing with a pinch of salt) but a journey well recommended.
The ruins at Bolonia are a must, the dig is on going, and a new visitor centre has just opened (winter 2007). Take your EU passport and entrance is free.
A new supermarket has just opened at the end of the road, handy for basic supplies.

Our nearest airport Gibraltar offers flights from London Luton, Gatwick, Manchester andLiverpool, flying with monarch easyjet and BA. A new airport terminal is opening for summer 2011, We strongly recommend flying into Gibraltar as it is a small airport with efficiant service and only 30 minutes drive away from us.
We can arrange to collect passengers from Gibraltar if needed.


. Budget car hire is recommended.
Flights are frequent into Malaga airport and there is a reliable bus service to Algeciras bus station with connections to Tarifa and El Cuarton.
Ferries are available from both Tarifa and Algeciras to Africa.
Buses run from Tarifa regularly to Cadiz and Seville, both near enough for day trips.

“Great house with fantastic hosts” I've stayed at Casa McCallion near Tarifa for a kitesurfing vacations. My friends stayed in Tarifa and I did not find anything decent in the town as it was overbooked. Well, I must say thay the place exceeded my expectations a lot! Really beautiful big house, spacious room, clean and nice bathroom, a lot of place outside. And the atmosphere is absolutely charming - everything is made with style and love. And owners of the house - Kath and Eddie were absolutely fantastic. Warm, welcoming, friendly and nice people. Will definetely recommend! If you rent a car, this location is 10 mins from Tarifa and 20 mins from major beaches which is absolutely ok.

“Great house and people” The house is very inviting and has a number of accommodation options including B&B and aprtments. You are free to engage as much or as little as you want with the owners. It is extremely friendly. The views to the moroccan coast are great. I stayed at the house as a base for kitesurfing in Tarifa, Canos de Meca and Conil. It was perfect for my needs. If you are looking to access the wind of the area but not the hustle and bustle, then this house only 10mins drive from Tarifa is recommended. The property would be great for groups of friends or older travellers.
