The Sicily region
Sicily does not only offer summer, sun and lovely beaches but also many cultural highlights. A compulsory point on each itinerary for a Sicily vacation are the countless testimonies of past times that a spread out across the island.
Some examples include the world famous „Valley of the Temples“ in Agrigent with the structures more than 2,500 years old and are testament of Greek settlement on this island during the ancient times. Besides this also well preserved remains of antique structures can be visited in Syrakus oder Catania which are equally appealing.
Those who need to cool down after these historical adventures will find many places to do so along the more than 1,000 kilometres of coastline. In the north and east you will mainly find steep cliffs and rocks towering above the sea with a number of picturesque bays lying in-between them. The southwestern part is flatter and characterised by beautiful beach strips.
Sicily has though much more to offer than just temples and beaches. Explore some of the interesting smaller and larger towns such as Palermo, Messina, Ragusa, Trapani or Taormina. Alternatively go on a boat tour that will take you to the Aeolian Islands and Aegadian Islands.
Visit TAORMINA, settled on a hill of the Monte Tauro. So much to do and see : top level art performances at the Greek theatre, several painting exhibitions held in local palazzi and churches, fine elegant shopping along the famous Corso Umberto with its classical music cafès and pastry shops.
RESTAURANTS! Enjoy the local Sicilian cuisine in several restaurants in the surroundings.
The villa is within a short distance from several great options for day trips. Mount Etna 30 minutes drive, Taormina and Castelmola 20 minutes drive, Alcantara gorge 5 minutes drive, Siracusa 1,5 hours drive, Piazza armerina (Villa Romana del Casale) 2 hours drive, Savoca and Forza d'agro (From the Godfather movie) 25 minutes drive.

My wife and I spent a week here in August and we really enjoyed ourselves. The villa is ideally located for relaxing and exploring the island. We particularly enjoyed the good restaurants such as I Due Compari where we had lunch and diner few times.
One of the great features of the villa is the large terrace from which you can enjoy superb views of the sea and the other side Mount Etna. We spent a lot of time at the big private pool….fantastic. This is a great place, well equipped with sun chairs and gazebos, to loung around, enjoy a glass of Sicilian wine or a nice meal. Villa Aurora was well equipped, impeccably clean and cosy furnished.
The owner and his family are very welcoming, friendly and helpful for assistance, recommendations or information. He lives in the village and is easily reachable and promptly available. The online pictures and description represented the actual properly accurately. Also the booking system was easy and the e-mail exchange very polite.

"Thoroughly recommended !"
The Villa, pool and surrounding area are delightful - a truly relaxing place for a holiday. We found the owners and booking system to be very helpful.
It is well positioned for exploring the surrounding area and far enough away from other buildings for complete privacy but close enough to super markets and restaurants. The villa is not over looked by anybody, so we could relax without the fear of any unwanted neighbours spoiling our peace and quite. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to a friend.
