This comfortable, traditional family villa is set in an elevated location in a quiet residential area of Aigua Xelida with magnificent sea views, particularly from the south facing terrace, garden and pool area and also from the mezzanine area of the living room. Offering flexible accommodation the villa is suitable for an extended family, couples or two families wishing to holiday together.

Villa Angela is set in mature enclosed gardens and has a hill top setting about 1.5 kms from the centre of the resort of Tamariu with its golden sandy beach and excellent selection of restaurants and bars. The cove of Aigua Xelida is within walking distance.

Access to the villa is through wrought iron gates beside the garage and up steps from the road to the side of the villa. The entrance is into a hall which leads to the large open-plan living room which is almost circular and has doors and windows that face onto the garden and the covered terrace. The living room has both sitting and dining areas, a feature fireplace; and a television and CD player. There is a separate kitchen which has recently been upgraded with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Leading off the kitchen is a laundry room with washing machine.

From the living room stairs lead up to a first floor 'mezzanine' sitting area with wonderful large panoramic windows from which the views out over the sea are fantastic.

The four bedrooms are on the ground floor of the villa and lead off the corridor behind the living room. There is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and three twin bedded rooms which share a family bathroom with both a bath tub and a shower.

Doors from the living room open out onto the raised covered terrace that wraps itself around the house and has areas for sitting and dining, and provides welcome shade from the heat of the day. The views from the terrace are out over the gardens and the sea.

The gardens of the villa are enclosed and mainly laid to lawn with a large expanse of terrace right across the villa. A kidney shaped pool, with a ladder at one end, is set to one side of the terrace as is a built-in barbecue. The dimensions of the pool are 3.5 x 8 m approximately and the depth ranges from 1 metre to 2 metres. The views from the terrace and gardens are down over Aigua Xelida and out over the sea. Facing south and south east the villa receives sun for much of the day.

Angela is an unusual villa with its circular tower comprising the living room and mezzanine sitting area; it is furnished and decorated with traditional dark hardwood with white walls to contrast. Much of the internal furnishings and fittings have been recently upgraded. With the large terraced areas, pool and views, Angela is an excellent family villa for a relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings.

BOOKING PROCEDURE

HOW TO BOOK - A deposit of 30% of the rental is payable at the time of booking and the balance of 70% is required six weeks before the start of the rental. We can accept payment in either Sterling or Euros, either by cheque, bank transfer or credit card, although in the case of the latter we do reserve the right to pass on any associated merchant charges. Prior to making payment you are advised to call us.

CANCELLATION CHARGES - Should you unfortunately have to cancel your rental the following cancellation charges are payable:- If the cancellation is made:

* More than 45 days before the start of the rental, loss of deposit

* Between 45 and 30 days before the start of the rental, 50% of the total cost of the rental

* Less than 30 days before the start of the rental, 100% of the total cost of the rental

In the light of these charges you are strongly advised to take out comprehensive travel insurance that includes cancellation cover. Cancellations must be advised in writing.

RENTAL AGREEMENT - in arranging rentals for Villa Angela , Linda Bethell (trading as Just Villas & Apartments Ltd) is acting as agent for the local management company who act as principal for the rental agreement. Copies of their booking conditions are available on request.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR RENTAL

PROPERTY REGISTRATION - the Catalan Government has recently introduced a new registration scheme for all rental properties called the H.U.T (Habitatge d'ús Turistic). Under this scheme only properties that are registered can be legally advertised, promoted and offered for rental on websites like Holiday Lettings. Villa Angela is a registered property and the H.U.T registration number is HUTG - 012341.

SECURITY DEPOSIT – is payable locally to the managing agent of the property on arrival. This can be done by credit card imprint which will destroyed at the end of your stay; should there be any deductions for breakages or additional charges you will be advised by the managing agent of the property.

TENANCY TIMES - the property is available for occupation between 1600 and 2000 hours (1800/1900 hours in low/mid season) on your arrival day and should be vacated by 1000 on your day of departure. Please bear this in mind when you are booking your flights. If you have flights that are arriving late we can arrange a late key collection for you.

TOURISM TAX - the Government of Catalunya Tourism Tax applies to all villa and apartment rentals. The tax is payable by all persons staying in the property over the age of 16 years. The tax is paid at the rate of €0.45 per person per night for up to a maximum of 7 nights and must be paid locally in cash to the managing agent of Villa Angela when you collect the keys of the property.

The Catalunia region

Catalonia, or perhaps better known as the Catalunya region, is the area of northern Spain bordering the Mediterranean just to the south of the French border. This ancient Kingdom once extended from near Narbonne in France down to Barcelona and eastwards to include the Balearic Islands. The area was later divided between France and Spain but even today it remains fiercely Catalan, as can be seen by the numerous red and yellow striped flags proudly displayed.

Perhaps Catalunya greatest gifts to the world have been its artists, Joan Miró and Salvador Dali are both from this region, but today's artists, the chefs of Catalunya, lead the world with their own inimitable styles and the rather exceptional cuisine, demonstrated originally by Ferran Adria of El Bulli fame and today perpetuated by the Roca brothers in Girona.

For the holidaymaker this is the Costa Brava, known throughout the world for its scenic beauty, aquamarine seas and golden sandy beaches. The most attractive area of the coast is the small area around Palafrugell which stretches from Pals and Begur in the north, south through Fornells, Aiguablava, Tamariu, Llafranc, to Calella de Palafrugell. This dramatic coastline abounds with beautiful bays, coves and headlands, with sandy beaches washed by sparkling seas, and interspersed by glistening white villages, each very different, the perfect locations for relaxing holidays.

Inland, the countryside is mainly agricultural with some wonderful timeless villages like Peratallada and Ullastret set against a distant backdrop of the ever present Pyrenees. Visit Pals, the walled medieval city; Bisbal famed for its production of ceramics; Torroella de Montgri with its Gothic palaces, courtyards and narrow streets nestling beneath the Castell de Montgri, and the spectacular gardens of Cap Roig. There are various markets to explore, vineyards to visit and slightly further away the Dali Museum in Figueres; whilst the vibrant city of Barcelona is less than 2 hours away.

For the more energetic there are no fewer than 5 golf courses nearby; you can play tennis; follow a number of planned walking and cycling itineraries; go scuba diving; enjoy all manner of water sports; hire a boat and explore the coast; or just relax soaking up the sun on one of the beautiful beaches for which the area is renowned.

Tamariu

Named after the tamarisk trees that surrounded its bays, Tamariu is a charming small resort with a crescent of golden sandy beach, which is set on a sparkling bay between majestic tree clad hillsides. It is popular with families, beach lovers and those seeking water sports, walkers, cyclists and divers, and is renowned for its excellent fish restaurants which are set on the promenade overlooking the beach and sea.

Holidays here are relaxed, lunches are long and the evenings are late but fairly quiet. The paseo is the prelude to the evening meal with longer walks along the coast for the more serious hiker, along the ancient Cami de Ronda exploring the beautiful scenery and the many coves.

There are many local festivals in the surrounding towns and villages – the main event being the Catalan Festa de St Joan on 23 and 24 June which is marked all over the region with bonfires and firework parties.
