Villa | 5 bedrooms | sleeps 10
These gorgeous beachside boutique properties are hidden gems perched above the most beautiful coves on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. White sand stretching far into the horizon, fresh water waves, and coconut palms, all within a short distance of Dickwella, Galle Fort, and Colombo. Simply paradise.
Spacious and light interiors, inspired by JK Place Capri and hand-picked the New York based owner, Shane Henty. The ambiance is one that "Feels like you are living it up in someone's house' - superbly comfortable and all creative comforts abound. Or you may wake and wonder if you have landed in a 'tropical' Hampton's like utopia.
Both Cove House and Little Cove can be rented separately or together, and comes fully staffed, as inclusive.
Little Cove, the sister property across the tropical garden, is available for nightly rental by the room. There are two double rooms with ensuite, h/w, fans, aircon and kitchen for cooked meals, or optional self catering.
There are in total three doubles bedrooms in Cove House and two double bedrooms in Little Cove.
This area of the south coast has particularly excellent freshly caught fish and seafood, including cheap lobster, and large lagoon prawns, to snapper, and tuna - we source ethically direct from an approved fisherman. The markets also have fruit vegetables in abundance - all available for preparation and presentation by our excellent chef.
All en-suite (with h/w), and each room is elegantly furnished to the highest standard. We are equipped to accommodate up to ten guests in total. Air/con, fans, Wi-fi. Separate office, 2 living rooms, and 2 kitchen with catering and self catering options.
There is a wrap around terrace, generous pool, and huge dining table for alfresco moments away from the sun-bed.
We offer relaxation, pampering, and fine cuisine - the perfect recipe for a luxurious and refreshing get-away.
Our guests can choose from a range of activities without straying far from home, such as snorkeling, surfing, swimming, cycling, and sightseeing, or else a rejuvenating massage on-site from our in-house specialist. We also offer one-to-one yoga tuition and surfing instruction mornings and evenings (on request).

An easy one and a half hour drive from the UNESCO listed Galle Fort and approximately half-way between Tangalle and Matara.
Cove Houses are also easily and almost exclusively accessible by Sea Plane from Colombo. The service runs from Negombo to Mawella Lagoon, takes about an hour and is a fifteen minute drive away by road. Quite a novel and super convenient experience for those who enjoy aerial views of the coastline, or for guests wanting optimum privacy.
There are numerous excursions, day trips, and mini-tours available in the immediate area - inclusive of the National Park and wildlife of Yala, Udawalawe and Bundala and the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary. Whale watching in Marisa, to temple visits, tea plantations, batik making workshops, cycling, and walking tours in-land through the beautiful rice paddies and lush jungle forests.
Tangalle coastline and sandy beaches stretching as far as the eye can see, or a little further to the immaculate waters of the East Coast and Arugum Bay.
This is an area of Sri Lanka that although not remote has the feeling of being relatively untouched by mass tourism.
