Home description

This pretty house has beautiful views over the golf course and forest, leading to the ocean. Whilst compact there is everything you need. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher. Storage shed for large items and sports equipment, kitchen area, dining area and living space leading to patio which in turn leads to the garden and a large area of communal gardens and the golf course. The pro shop and first tee are only a minutes walk away. Upstairs there is a twin bedroom, brand new shower/vanity unit and separate WC. All beds were replaced in 2006. Small garden area front and back. Personal parking space in front of the house Only a few minutes walk to shops and other amenities. The beach can be accessed by the 'little train' or by car, in 5 minutes. Plenty of tennis courts to hire and use of swimming pools. You will need to purchase bracelets from'animation' to access the pools. Children's clubs and activities are available in high season. You will need to bring your own pillows and linen/towels etc.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vendee region

The Vendee has a micro climate and enjoys as many sunshine hours as the Cote D'Azur. The quality of the light is exceptional, in fact the area is also known as the Cote Lumiere. The weather is pleasantly warm from April through to October. The Vendee is a food production area of France and local produce and wine are readily available. Brioche and wine are both made nearby. Les Sables d'Olonne and La Rochelle are both attractive cities steeped in history and are well worth a visit.

Talmont St Hilaire / Port Bourgenay area

The costline is pretty and unspoilt and many beaches are close to forests offering shady parking and a lunchtime respite. Most beaches offer windsurfing and beach kiting. Every town nearby has a chateau open to the public, many offer Son et Lumiere. Talmont has a market twice per week. There are numerous restaurants on the resort and at the marina, all walking distance from the house. Mussels are a speciality. In fact there is a seafood specialist a short walk along the coast from the house where fresh seafood can be purchased daily.

- 3hrs from St Malo
- 5hrs from Cherbourg
- 4 hrs from Caen - all with Brittany Ferries
- I hr from La Rochelle (cheap flights available with Ryan Air)
- 1 1/2 hrs from Nantes (scheduled flighs)

There is a launderette on site and also one at Super U in Talmont. The bathroom has been recently been re modelled and now has a large shower, heated towel rail and vanity area. Central heating of you are there at a cooler time of year.

There are restaurants on site and a pretty woking marina close by. Bicycles are available for hire. The resort boasts two 18 hole golf courses. Plenty of activities for children - playgrounds, clubs fo all age groups, tennis and golf coaching. There is a small supermarket on site and SuperU is an 8 minute car ride away.

Swimming, tennis, golf etc are all at extra cost. You can pay as you go, or, if you are staying for a week or two it is more economical to buy bracelets from 'animation' which allow access all areas.
