The Paphos District
Situated on the south west coast of the island, Paphos enjoys a Mediterranean climate of hot summers and mild winters. The coastal town with its famous harbour area known as 'Kato Paphos' is only a 15 minute drive away from your idyllic hillside retreat. Stroll along the promenade and enjoy the large selection of seafood restaurants and tavernas, or simply settle down outside one of the many cafes and watch the world go by. You can wander up into the old town for more traditional dining where open-air markets and well stocked supermarkets will supply all your shopping needs.
For those of you with an historic interest there is much to explore. Paphos, the mythical birth place of Aphrodite, is steeped in history, culture and mythology. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and was the capital of the island in Roman Times. You will find an abundance of archaeological sites such as Paphos Castle, originally built as a Byzantine fort to protect the harbour, the extensive and well preserved Roman mosaics at the Governor's palace and the Tomb of the Kings.
Other nearby attractions include the Paphos Bird and Animal Park, Aphrodite Water Park (Follow the Frog) and the baths and waterfalls at Adonis. Venture further to the Arkamas National Park, an area of great natural beauty, the Baths of Aphrodite and Latchi beach.
Within a 20 minute drive from Paphos International airport you can be in the exclusive and beautiful Tala hills with spectacular mountain vistas as a backdrop to panoramic sea views and sunsets. The area is known for its cooling summer breezes, very welcome in the summer months.
Tala is a picturesque traditional Cypriot village, only a short stroll down the hill from Summer Breeze. Set on a west facing hillside overlooking Paphos and the coastline, the focal point of the village is the delightful square which has a small selection of friendly restaurants, tavernas, coffee shops and bars. Diners are spoilt for choice from meze style dining to international cuisine. Relax in the square with a coffee while overlooking the 15th century Church of Agia Ekateriny. Two small grocery stores (kiosks), cash machine, pharmacy and post office provide for your daily needs. The large Carrefour Supermarket is a 15 mins drive away on the outskirts of Paphos.
A short drive or walk up the hill from Summer Breeze you will find the beautiful 12th century Monastery of Neophytos where you can stop for a coffee and relax in the tranquil setting. Marvel at the Byzantine icons, frescos and series of caves that were hand carved out of the rocks by Neophytos the Recluse.
Minthis Hills Golf Course (formally Tsada Golf Course) is a 15 minute drive away. The Par 71 course enjoys an historic setting situated in the grounds of a 12th century monastery. Elevated 550m above sea level the calming breezes will cool you in the summer months.
The glorious sandy beaches of Coral bay, which are ideal for swimming, are a 15 minute drive away. Coral Bay beach, a Blue Flag beach, has sun loungers and umbrellas available for hire. Other activities on offer are water sports, diving and boating and there is also a selection of restaurants and cafes. A little further along the coast is the quieter Corallia beach. This sandy beach with a shallow sea is ideal for families with young children.

Wonderful Villa in great location. Loads of space, and all essentials are available in the Villa. Absolutely beautiful views of tala and the coast, very comfortable beds and living area. Great night sleep as main bedroom has balcony - did not even need air conditioning.
The whole villa is beautifully furnished and made a very comfortable stay, and I will be booking again.
