About the home

Paphos sunsets are unrivalled; enjoy the uninterrupted views of the Paphos coastline from our ground and first floor balconies. Our spacious house is the perfect haven for getting away from it all on a small, (only 14 properties) well maintained delightful complex, just 5 minutes walk to a local kiosk (small supermarket) and ten minutes to local bars and restaurants. Whenever you want the hustle and bustle of Paphos it is only a ten-fifteen minute drive, and the nearest lovely beach is ten minutes away.

Paphos is renowned for its culture. Explore Byzantine mosaics and the Tomb of the Kings plus numerous other similar sites: its picturesque harbour with frequent boat trips and nightlife are all easily accessible from our house, as are Paphos waterpark and many lovely beaches. If you don't want to hire a car, taxis are affordable and reliable, though driving on the left hand side, with easy traffic and road signs making driving abroad simplicity itself.

This really is a place where you can choose the pace. The house is ten minutes walk to the Tala Village with it's many eateries or you can shop in the supermarkets or 'kiosks' and prepare fresh food in our well equipped kitchen and dine on the balcony overlooking the entrancing views. Families can enjoy the property and keep a close eye on their children at the same time as the pool is literally feet away, yet never too busy, even in high season to spoil the air of calm.

2012 is the first season that we have rented our property.

This is a two bedroomed townhouse which is much larger than an average rental property; an 'upside down' layout to maximise the wonderful views. A covered basement on the bottom floor, which will protect your rental car from the searing heat is on the lowest level. Marble steps leading from the basement, where access can also be made to the pool area, takes you to two spacious cool bedrooms on the ground floor together with a well equipped family bathroom. Beds, one king size in the back bedroom and two large singles in the front are both extremely comfortable. Both bedrooms have an individual terrace area; the main double bedroom at the back of the house leads directly past it's own private area to the communal pool so you can jump straight in for a morning dip before breakfast. The second bedroom has it's own independent terrace which is placed at the front of the house. While the view isn't as dramatic as that from the main bedroom it is equally peaceful and gets the morning sunshine.
Up further marble steps you enter the lounge/diner with more great views across Paphos. Here you can enjoy the terrace leading from the lounge or relax on the comfortable cream sofas, one of which is a large, fully sprung double sofa bed.
Dining table and chairs you will find in the dining area before arriving at the large kitchen area which is fully equipped with all you would expect to find, including iron, ironing board, microwave, etc.
The front door is accessed from this level so you can enter and leave either from the first level or the basement, as there's also lots of parking space outside too.

Tala is set on a hill or rather a mountain and enjoys fantastic views all round. Our complex is situated in an enviable location at the outskirts of the small village, before the 'climb' (by car or for walking enthusiasts) to the very top of Tala where a lot of Cypriot owned fantastic villas and individual properties are to be found. The climate, while very similar to the heart of Paphos town has a fresh quality to the air and the village, being at some height above sea level, often enjoys a slight but very welcome breeze.

While the pool is for communal use it very often feels like you have your own private pool. The complex is a mix of resident occupied and summer homes with only a few rented out.

The pool has its own changing areas, showers and toilets. Tables are provided on each of our three verandahs with sun umbrellas and chairs. There are six sun loungers available just for guests and pool towels.

Further details

Mid-stay cleaning can be arranged together with hire of high chair facilities, car seats and indeed any other requirements not already supplied in the apartment for an extra charge. A travel cot is available free of charge.

Welcome packs containing basic essentials such as milk, tea, coffee etc can be provided at a small extra cost for all guests. Please ask for details.

Our English on site property caretakers are available during normal working hours and can give you any further information you need including helpful details about the local area. They can arrange mid stay cleans payable locally.

The Paphos region

Paphos is renowned as being a World Heritage Site so has abundant archaelogical sites to visit with stunning ancient mosaics. Over the past few years the harbour has enjoyed significant investment and has become an even more delightful place to while away a few hours, enjoying the coast and sipping coffees or cocktails while watching the sun go down and enjoying the comings and goings of harbour life. From here enjoy a cruise along the peninsular toward the Akamas nature reserve, where depending on season you will visit Lara beach and if you are very lucky spot a turtle. Boat trips run at various times of the day in high summer including at night.

The Pahos coastline has many places to visit apart from the harbour, take a drive to Aphrodites rock the supposed birthplace of this Greek Goddess. Whatever you believe this serene and beautiful site will captivate you.

For the more active the Paphos waterpark offers entertainment through the day; quad bike hire, offroad and on road, at many various places in the town and at Coral Bay makes getting about exhilerating fun. Just remember to bring your driving licence! you can even take part in a quad bike safari!




Overlooking the coast between Coral Bay toward Paphos our house is perfectly situated for exploring all this region has to offer by car or on foot, from the ancient hertiage of old Paphos to the ten minute walk to the local monastery which supplies our water; to more traditional holiday pursuits such as swimming, snorkelling in the clear waters of Coralia and Coral Bay beaches, visiting the Adonis baths or spending some time driving to Polis and Latchi. The list is endless.
Unlike other areas of Cyprus Paphos is open all year round. Come in the winter; time it right and spend the morning skiing in the Troodos mountains (just over an hours drive) and the afternoon sunbathing on the beach!

The Tala area

Tala is a pretty village where time to a certain extent has stood still. Despite an increase in tourism in the last five years to Cyprus in general, Tala offers both traditional and more modern cuisine and an eclectic atmosphere where the traditional jostles comfortably and easily with the contemporary.
Easter is a particularly special time to visit locally when the Square-the centre of the village is closed to all cars and locals and holidaymakers celebrate enthusiastically.
