Paphos itself consists of two areas very diffrerent in character. Upper Paphos and Kato Paphos by the sea. The old town is traditionally Cypriot, while the other has changed over the years from a Harbour and fishing village into a vibrant resort.

Further north just a short drive away, there is the Akamas Peninsula and the Turtle reserve at Lara beach as well as Latchi and Polis, newer resorst with beachfrony restaurants and sandy beaches. In the centre of the island, take a beautiful drive to the Troodos mountains, where you can even ski in the winter!
There are excellent roads making it very easy to access all areas of Cyprus but take the coast road for the scenic route to see Aphrodite's rock and the Curium amphitheatre on the outskirts of Limassol.
