Marina view Aqaba the Red Sea
About the home
Spacious, two-bedroom, marina and sea-view apartment within the newly-built luxury Tala Bay resort, literally on the shores of the Red Sea, just south of the dynamic city of Aqaba. Winters are like a good English summer, the sea is always warm enough for swimming, there's coral within 8 metres of the beach and it's the perfect location for a different and memorable holiday.
Tala Bay offers diving, snorkeling, cruises, ferries to Egypt, wind and kite surfing, jet skis and other water sports; as well as good restaurants and bars, boutiques, a supermarket, gift and fashion stores; plus eight swimming pools.
Nearby Aqaba is a busy city with a small fishing port, bars and some nightlife, as well as local markets and tourist shops. And within an hour or two's drive you can be in Petra (one of the seven modern Wonders of the World) or in Wadi Rum (one of the most special places on earth). The area is steeped in history, from the Nabateans to Lawrence of Arabia.
This is a luxury apartment in a luxury development. It has a big balcony and huge roof, both with views over the marina and across the Red Sea, just 50 metres away. Fully-equipped, high-quality kitchen, two bathrooms, close to restaurants and boutiques - everything you need for the perfect relaxing, interesting holiday.
However, it is not perfect for people who need to be entertained all the time or require discos and diversions! It can be quiet and peaceful, except during the big local holiday weekends, when it is busy.

Further details indoors:
Our own web-site (see link at the bottom of this page) includes more photographs of the apartment. It is furnished and decorated in a high-end, simple European style (not ornate Arabic), but with local rugs and local paintings. The kitchen is well-equipped for all kinds of cooking, though without a dish-washer (bring or buy locally a tea-towel or two). The apartment can be provided fully-serviced if you want! (ie cleaned every day, with even the washing up done for you).
Besides all the obvious luxury facilities, there is a small tent which many children love to sleep in on the big roof! There are hooks for a hammock on the roof, overlooking the busy marina. And there is a simple local bar-b-q, along with many deck chairs, a marble table, two fold-away dining tables, two loungers and a huge rug.
Further details outdoors:
You are in the best location in the whole development, right at the entrance to the marina. From the apartment you can watch the boats coming and going or look across the sea to Eilat in Israel and Taba in Egypt. The entrance to the apartment is on the marina itself, with palm trees, greenery and a nearby cafe/pub. An evening stroll around the marina can take an hour, if you come back along the beach and stop for a drink or window-shop. There's plenty to watch and enjoy and although the temperature can be high in the summer, there is a lot of shade, the balcony is cool and north-facing and normally there's a gentle, refreshing breeze from the north, along Wadi Araba that makes even hot days very bearable.
The beaches are well equipped with loungers and sun-shades and fresh-water showers. There are several luxury swimming pools, including a smaller heated swimming pool at the Beach Club, for which there is a small charge.
Further details
We will provide free holiday advice and suggestions for anyone staying in the apartment who has not visited Jordan before. They will have a wonderful, memorable holiday but Jordan is not a cheap option. However, where else in the world are there so many globally-important places to visit in such a small area; including Petra, Wadi Rum, the coral of Aqaba and the Dead Sea (all within easy reach of Tala Bay).
The apartment is available by the week but we are happy to talk about special rates for longer stays -- we have often thought it would make a perfect winter-sunshine holiday for people wanting to stay for a month or more; we can help you negotiate very good rates for car hire, etc. And if you are in Jordan anyway, the minimum rental we will consider is two days.
We believe our apartment is one of the best located in the whole Tala Bay development but if it is already let out, or if you need somewhere bigger or smaller, then we have friends in Tala Bay with apartments they also rent out.
Conditions
* strictly no smoking, except on the large flat roof;
* a fully-refundable deposit (£200) to cover the cost of breakages will be required in advance; this will be returned within two weeks of the end of your booking, when the property has been inspected;

the remainder must be paid six weeks in advance;

The Aqaba/Red Sea region

Aqaba is a busy city with a small fishing port, bars and some nightlife, as well as local markets and tourist shops and the best shwarma restaurant in Jordan!! It has not yet lost its small-town charm and individuality but the plans are to expand it to well over 100,000 people with 5* hotels, restaurants and other attractions to match. It will take some years, so for now you can still enjoy the best of both worlds, with many modern facilities and vastly improved roads and yet still feel you have stepped back to an earlier age.
Aqaba is also an ideal base for exploring Southern Jordan. Within an hour or two's drive you can be in Petra (one of the seven modern Wonders of the World) or in Wadi Rum (one of the most special places on earth).
The desert is extraordinarily beautiful. If you're adventurous we can show you the back route from Wadi Araba (the long valley linking the Dead Sea to Aqaba) up through the mountains to the back entrance to Petra -- more hairpins bends than the Lake District and views you will never forget.
For anyone who's not been to Jordan before, we will provide, for no extra cost, advice and ideas for making the most of this wonderful country. A bedouin friend of ours runs individual tours around Wadi Rum (see www.wadirumtours.com) and if you stay overnight with him (and not in the apartment) we will refund you his camping charges!!

This is the best trip I've ever made and there's been a few, took a cheap flight from Gothenburg approx. 1100 eu. for 5 persons to Amman and back. Got picked up there by a local hired guide and drove to Aqaba, it takes ca 3 hrs but there is things to see on the way so this is ok but there is an airport in Aqaba as well. The apartment is in Tala bay which is a few mins. outside the city so there is no traffic noise and it's like 1-2 mins. walk to restaurants and bars pool (mother of all pools i guess) and the view is breath taking, on good day (there is about 250 of them) you can see for miles from roof terrace. The beach was no good for me but if you're into this scuba thingii this is the place for you, but again the pool is great. The apartment it selves is excellent easily sleeps 5-6 persons it's possible for 8-10 (this is my opinion) Very good ac all over, nice kitchen fridge oven washing machine, in short therms you will not be missing anything. What to see? Got go to Wadi rum and have tea in the sunset (we did it twice), Petra, Dead sea. If you haven't been to Jordan You should...... |

Great apartment with loads of space. All mod cons. You might want to try and find a supermarket in Aqaba for your main shopping. |
