About the home

The log cabin is purpose built and offers luxury accommodation. It is tastefully furnished throughout and can comfortably sleep six, four adults and two children. The cabin is of modern design and consideration has been made to customers requiring mobility aids, such as a ramp, large entrance area and wide doors throughout. Rooms include one double bedroom, one bunk bedroom and one galleried bedroom which can be large king size or twin bedded. A fully fitted kitchen is incorporated in the living and dining space. Facilities include a fridge, oven & hob, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. Outside you can sit or dine on the large veranda (there are no midges here) and enjoy watching the sunset late into the evening.

The Scottish Highlands region

Home in on our history and heritage at Fearn Abbey, Tarbat Discovery Centre or Dunrobin Castle. Follow the King's Route at Tain Through Time Museum. Take a trek to follow the Pictish stones trail around Easter Ross. Sample the 'water of life' at nearby Glenmorangie Distillery. Catch the ferry to the Black Isle and see the Bottlenose Dolphins and the seals. In season of course there are the Highland Games and Shows which are such an important part of life to both Highlanders and visitors alike.

The Tain / Balintore area

Birdwatching
Nigg bay situated 10 minutes from the cabin is an extensive area of mudflat, saltmarsh and wet grassland nestled on the Cromarty Firth. Any visit between October and March would be rewarded with a sight of countless wading birds, such as bartailed godwits and knots.
Loch Eye, Nature Reserve and S.S.S.I.; Birdwatchers and Nature Lovers paradise - Osprey, Otters, Brown Hare, Pine Marten, Roe Deer, Dolphins & Seals.
Whooper swans in their hundreds glide effortlessly across the flats of Nigg Bay and Greylag and Pink Foot geese in their thousands descend in late Autumn, with over 30,000 having been recorded in one season.

Fishing
Being right on the coast, and just outside the traditional fishing villages of Shandwick, Balintore and Hilton offers the keen sea angler an ideal opportunity for a fishing trip.
A more sedate form of Fishing is available on Loch Eye.

Golfing
The world famous Royal Dornoch Championship Course (currently ranked 15th) is just a 20 minute drive from Broomton.
It shares stunning views across the Dornoch Firth and Sutherland hills with The Struie, an 18 hole links course which complements the main course.
Close to home or further afield there are over 40 excellent courses located throughout the Highlands including Tain, Brora, Golspie, Fortrose and Rosemarkie, Invergordon, Strathpeffer, Wick, Thurso and Reay to name only a few.

“Fantastic secluded cabin equipped to the highest standard.” The cabin sits off a quite road on the grounds of a farm, it is secluded and private.
