About the home

This typical Moroccan holiday property is a true gem. It is a private house, traditionally decorated and large. It consists of multiple floors set up in a playful lay out with in total 2 sea front terraces. The house is located right in the centre and bay of Taghazout.

All amenities, like restaurants, shops, etc. are right around the corner. The fishermen's bay lays right in front of the house: from the house / terrace you can watch the daily activities of the local fisherman and seeing them bringing in the fresh fish. One step out of the door and you can walk the rocks and beach of Taghazout or go for a surf in the water! You can hear the waves and watch the sunrise or sunset right from your holiday home.
The house is fully equipped and clean sheets and towels are provided. It is ideal for groups, couples and families.

From the front of the house you have little steps that lead you directly to the ocean for a refreshing swim.

This beach house has a private entrance. It has a terrace with sunbeds and a large Moroccan salon/sitting area with satellite tv. There is a room with 2 single beds.
The playful lay-out of the house is stunning as it has a riad like corridor in the middle which connects the front of the house to the kitchen and bathrooms in the back. The kitchen is fully equipped including a fridge and gas cooker.
The bathroom is split up into two rooms: one with a toilet and basin and the hot water shower in the other. To go upstairs there is a beautifully tiled staircase.
You'll find a Moroccan bedroom at the back with a double bed (1.20m wide) that is connected to the corridor for fresh air and a breeze on hotter days. In the front you'll find a cosy little sitting area with double doors to the terrace that looks out over the beach and ocean.
From the second bedroom you can enjoy the gorgeous views fromout the bed!
The second terrace has a sunbed and table and chairs as well to enjoy the Moroccan sunshine!

Secured parking available on the main road for 10 dirham per night.

The Agadir region

Agadir is the largest city in the South West coast of Morocco and provides all conveniences, like a major supermarket 'Marjane', the large souk (traditional Moroccan market), bars, clubs and shopping. After the earthquake in 1960, it has become a modern city, primarily a tourist resort that is popular with European travellers with it's long and wide boulevard.

This Moroccan Southern region is popular for it's all year round good climate, good for a beach holiday any time of the year with hot days during Summer time where a plunge in the ocean is an ideal way to spend the afternoon.

Agadir is located on the coast and is surrounded by the Atlas mountains which are inviting to take a trip to with Taroudant 40 km. east of the city of Agadir. Also Marrakech and the National Park 'Souss Massa' might be worth a visit. With plenty of Main Roads running through the area it is an ideal place to explore Morocco from.

The Taghazout area

19 Kilometres North of Agadir lies the charming fisherman's village of Taghazout. It is known for its great surfing, fabulous climate and relaxed atmosphere. It lies idyllic along a bay at the bottom of a mountain slope. The weather is great all year round and shows beautiful sunsets.

The place is ideally surrounded by all main surf breaks and very popular amongst all levels of surfers. The town has a good number of surf shops to rent equipment from and/or lessons.

From the good variety of restaurants you can enjoy the most gorgeous views while having your meal.

The place is just ideal for outdoor recreation and offers a good amount of activities while staying amongst the local Berbers. Hiking, quad biking, camel tracking are options, as well a trip into Paradise Valley which is indeed a paradise for hiking, a plunge in a lake or having a tagine. A visit to Immouzer with the waterfall could be a good finish of the day trip.

A trip to the weekly market in the next door village will introduce you even more to the Moroccan culture and the Walled City of Essaouira is definitely worth a visit.

Night life in Agadir is just a short bus or taxi ride away from Taghazout.

There are several beaches which all offer a good alternative to the town beach. The setting of these beaches can be most attractive, with mountains on all sides.

Nearest Airport: Agadir Al Massira Airport at 30 kilometers.
Dublin, London, Dusseldorf etc all run budget flights to Agadir.
A taxi transport from the airport to Taghazout costs 250 to 300 dirham (not more then 30 euro).

The motorway N1 passes through Taghazout.

A car rental is optional.

Taghazout has a bus station. Buses run regularly from Agadir, Essaouira and Marrakesh.

“Not quite what we expected” We booked this home through another person who was managing it in August (not the same person listed here). She was extremely helpful, organised and quick with her responses so we were very pleased and looking forward to a lovely holiday in Taghazout. When we arrived at 8.30pm we were met by Rashid (the manager), who told us that unfortunately our booking was no longer valid. The owner (who isn't the person doing the bookings) had allowed a French family to stay for the whole month as they had offered more money to stay there and they had no intention of honouring our booking. Rashid helped us find somewhere else but wasn't very effective and failed to turn up the next morning at the arranged time. We are a family with four children and eventually a friendly Moroccan helped us find another beach front house of very inferior quality to the one we booked but we were very grateful. The lady doing the bookings did refund us our deposit straight away but we were still left very dissatisfied (especially as she deducted one nights stay in a room they put us in for the night). I would strongly advise anyone doing any bookings to only book directly through an owner. I will be very worried to ever book anything again but we did the same last year in Essaouira and all went very well. The house did look lovely but alas we didn't actually step foot inside it. I will also add that I made the booking in January and only found out once we got there that we no longer had it!
