Moroccobluebandb is a three storey house in a Berber community. Guests share a shower room/toilet and small salon. Also access to terrace and roof if required. Hire car recommended but lifts to beaches after beakfast. Holiday in an authentic community with weekly souk and near to best beaches in Morocco. Also near to modern Agadir with large daily souk and short drives to bird reserves, mountains and secret surf breaks. We welcome people who enjoy non-polluting sports. Also wonderful for photographers artists. We also have a family, self-catering cottage nearer to the beach which we let at a weekly rate of MAD3000 (around £189). See website for more pictures.

The Agadir region

Agadir was destroyed by an earthquake twenty years ago and so is a modern city with much new development. The King has a Palace there and there are lots of restaurants, clubs and hotels. Agadir is also marvellous for shopping and beaches. There is a large French supermarket for alcohol, meats, cheeses, etc., even live lobsters. There is also a fish market at the port with tasty fish meals and live entertainment from local musicians as well as a souk to get lost in. We can arrange shopping trips and cookery lessons for local recipes. South of Agadir we have another property on a secret surf beach close to the Massa Bird Reserve and river estuary.

Tagazhout / Aourir area

We can also let you a self-catering cottage near the beach in Aourir, otherwise known as Banana Village. Nearby is Tagazhout , which was discovered by the hippies and has its own beachfront hotel and tiny but interesting market. There are several cafes serving European-style meals. It is most famous for its surf beaches and much of the land round there is now being developed with promises of a hotel and golf course. Inland from Aourir is Paradise Valley, well worth a visit on hot days, when we can find you a local guide who will take you treking along mountain paths to deep swimming pools. For a day trip try travelling through Paradise Valley and the mountains to Immouzer where there is a good quality hotel for lunch or overnight stay overlooking the famous cascades. Even when there is not much water apparent there are wonderful views and atmosphere.

We have three good-sized, cool rooms with two singles in each, which can easily be converted to a double. They are comfortable and clean. We provide towels and bottled drinking water. Our breakfasts are to your choice so can be continental, (freshly baked bread) or Moroccan (with local honey, amlow or argan oil when available) or English style with meat, eggs, etc. plus freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee or tea.

Further details outdoors:
There is a small terrace off the private apartment, but guests are welcome to use it. Also stairs from there to roof with views over the houses to the sea and mountains. The streets are typical of a urban Berber communtiy with unpaved streets and high houses. Our house is set against the mountains and at the bottom of the hill you can catch buses or taxis into Aourir proper, or hire cars are not expensive in Agadir. Our local beach boasts a European style beach restaurant run by two young French friends and further along the coast is the famous surf village of Tagazhout. There are many spectacular beaches around the area and the proprietors can take you to secret surf breaks further south.

Further details

Moroccoblue B & B is an experience, not just a boarding house. You will hear the regular calls to prayer, meet the children in the streets and live in a genuine community.
