The Sydney / Balmoral Beach area
Balmoral Beach is a hidden gem, situated on Sydney’s middle harbor, a favourite beach with locals and not such an obvious choice of the tourist. With three beaches flowing into one another and an enclosed “swimming bath” section enclosed by a wooden boardwalk. The beach-front esplanade rising alongside the beach, as couples stroll arm in arm, children play while taking in the glorious beachside ambience.
Balmoral is home to some of Sydney’s most awarded dining establishment’s, even its local fish and chip shop won an award! Balmoral’s local cafes provide the perfect backdrop to a quiet coffee soaking up the atmosphere to a good Australian breakfast on the beach, after a swim in the clear blue water.
Balmoral is the start of a breathtaking walk from the elevated views of middle harbour, to Chowder Bay and Clifton Gardens, taking in some of Sydney Habours most celebrated landmarks, with some of the best hidden photographic opportunities.
Balmoral was named after Royal Dee Side, Scotland, the favourite Scottish residence of the British Royal family.
Buses and Water Taxi’s all operate between Sydney’s Circular Quay to Balmoral Beach or Buses, Water Taxi’s and Ferrys from Mosman between Sydney’s Circular Quay.
Local transport also is easy to Taronga Zoo, Luna Park, Manly and Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Mosman, is Balmoral’s local shopping village providing an array of exclusive shops, from designer boutiques to local deli’s with home- grown fresh produce and welcoming café’s and bistro’s.
Mosman is an easy 5-10 minute walk away from Balmoral Beach, or a free hopper bus picks up every 30 minutes to take you to the exclusive shopping centre and also to Taronga Zoo.
