The Swiss Alps / Valais/Swiss Alps region
Siuated only 90 minutes from Geneva, Val d'Illiez offers postcard swiss village charm with preserved architecture and a quick acces to "les Portes du Soleil" the world's largest internationally ski domain with 194 ski lift. This domain is also a moutain bike destination. Regardless of the season, each day offers a new safary hikers and mountains bike enthusiasts of all levels! The tourism in the valley dates back to 1857, which makes it one of the oldest resorts in Switzerland. Electricity was put to service in 1900 and so by 1908 the first trains were able to reach Val d'Illiez and Champery's station. In 1939 the first cable car of Switzerland was put to service.
Swiss Portes du Soleil / Val D'illiez area
The Val d'Illiez has always been a very attractive and touristic region, offering activities during all summer: biking (one of the most famous Mountain biking aera) walking, hiking, climbing, paragliding...but also skiing in winter...
In the village of Champery (only 10 minutes driving) the sport centre is proposing tennis, ice skating, curling but also swimming with an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Recently a new spot of Accro-branche (climbing in the trees) has been opened. Val d'Illiez village is also well known for its thermal bath, a very healthy and warm water coming out of the earth! The spa is only 5 minutes walking from the chalet. During high season, the tourism offices organise diverse activities including guided hikes and walks, via ferrata and breakfast on a Swiss alpine farm with demonstrations of traditionnal cheese-making.
How to get there
The nice village of Val d'Illiez is just 1h30 from Geneva Airport by car and is easily reachec by train (2h30)
to drive from Geneva Airport: take the motorway direction Lausanne, then Montreux, Aigle and Monthey. leave the A9 when you have reached the exit Monthey Nord- St Triphon then take direction Portes du Soleil Val d'Illiez. When you are on the mountains road, before the village of Val d'Illiez, take the exit "bains de Val d'Illiez Thermes Parc". The meeting point will be in front of the Bains de Val d'Illiez as we will bring you directly to the chalet.

No smoking chalet, only outside stay for minimum one week or more refundable breakages deposit of £ 250.- is required on arrival, to be refunded within 2 weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection) 35% of rental fee will be necessary to secure the booking. The remainder is due 6 weeks before arrival.
