This brand-new penthouse apartment is located in the quiet traditional village of Champoussin in Les Portes dus Soleil ski area. The property sleeps up to 8 guests and boasts 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, together with a balcony which provides magnificent views across the Dents Du Midi mountain range. Guests can enjoy relaxing in front of the fireplace with a cocoa, watching films the 37" flat screen TV or simply by surfing the web. The modern apartment also includes a private ski locker which will come in very handy.
The biggest draw of this wondrful property is of course the skiing, and it cerrtainly doesn't disappoint. The area has excellent snow records and the property is perfectly located for the pistes, the ski schools and ski hire. There are a plethora of slopes and lifts in the area, with 3 separate lifts starting from the village of Champoussin alone. There are also plenty of top quality restaurants nearby, the closest being next door.

The Swiss Alps / Valais/Swiss Alps region
Valais lies in the South-West of Switzerland, stretching for 150 km along the narrow ribbon of the Rhône Valley between Lake Geneva and the Rhône Glacier. Some of the best skiing in the world is found in the west Valais region, accommodating skiers of all levels. With its regular snowfall, peerless slopes and striking scenery it definitely hits the mark.
But it has plenty to offer all year round, hikers and cyclers alike will be in paradise. Walkers might choose a gentle stroll along the valley floor or a more ambitious 40 km hiking circuit staying in mountain huts, and the 660Km of biking trails can be accessed via the many lifts that remain open throughout the year. The area is also great for canoeing, climbing and bird watching. The number of sunny days per year is well above the national average and the temperature is generally mild until early November so it is also ideal for an autum break.
Swiss Portes du Soleil / Champoussin area
Champoussin offers a multitude of activities for young and old alike. The Ecole Suisse des Sports de Neige (Swiss snow sports school) offers classes on anything that slides, glides or carves and the paragliding school offers certification courses and two-man flights. The village also has a 4 km toboggan course open year-round, a marked snowshoeing trail winds through the surrounding peaks and a cross-country skiing trail leads to the neighboring village of Les Crosets and offers some of the most spectacular views to be had of the Dents du Midi. With every passing year, Champoussin becomes a more interesting and attractive destination.
The new Point Sud amusement park, a goat farm and alpine museum, tennis courts now complement a panoply of possibilities for outings on horseback, foot or mountain bike throughout the Portes du Soleil. Rest and relaxation can be had at the Royal Alpage Club's covered pool, sauna and fitness centre. However, the jewell in the crown of this little village is the marvelous chapel with its majestic setting facing the Dents du Midi.
The nearest airport is Geneva. It is served by a number of airlines in the UK, including BA, EasyJet, Flybe and ThompsonFly. Flying from locations including Doncaster, Southampton, Birmingham and Gatwick.
