There are mountains for skiing, walking and so much more and Lake Geneva is just 30 minutes away offering sight-seeing, boat trips, beaches and, for the children, Aquaparc and the Swiss Vapeur Parc.
Swiss Portes du Soleil
Morgins is one of the smallest, most picturesque villages in the Portes du Soleil with 650km of pistes, it has everything you need, and remains quiet and unspoilt – ideal for a family chalet holiday.
Retaining the charms of a traditional farming village, Morgins has resisted over-commercialisation and remains an almost hotel-free zone. There are good restaurants and bars, helpful ski hire shops, an English-speaking ski school and even a nightclub.
Morgins is only an hour and a half away from Geneva Airport and only the last 15 minutes is up windy mountain roads. It can be reached by car, or by train to Aigle and then taxi to the resort. Morgins is well connected to the Swiss motorway network, for example, the whole trip from London can be completed in about ten hours via Eurotunnel.
Although the village is well served by two small supermarkets, nearby Monthey, a 20 minute drive away, offers a vast array of shops at non-resort prices, including probably the best supermarket in the world, Manor.
