Here at Chesterhill we have many lovely animals that you are very welcome to say hello to. Please remember they are animals and care must be taken with them.
We have 3 lovely dogs, Harvey is the oldest at 15 years old he is a mongrel, who has a great nature, he was a rescue dog from Manchester, apparently abandoned with his brother in some rubbish bins at a block of flats. Duke is our adventurous Border Collie, his energy is endless and will play for hours passing a ball back and forward to you and the baby of the family is Quinn our naughty Jack Russell, who loves to annoy Duke! You may see our only cat called 'Gizmo' roaming around the fields looking for mice!
We have 20 chickens who lay gorgeous eggs nearly all year round. They love being fed rice and pasta, they are completely free range and roam the surrounding fields all day to return home to roost at dusk. We also have alot of lovely ducks now all different colours and sizes, they too love being fed rice and pasta and every morning, waddle to the pond to begin a day of foraging for food, to return to the comfort of their home at night. Watch this space we currently have 20+ eggs in our incubator due to hatch by mid June time, just to add to our small collection of ducks and chickens!!
Chalkie is our white goat always looking for food he will come up to the fence to feed from you, please mind your fingers though.
Our Rabbit- 'Thumper'. We have many resident wild rabbits in our fields, but we also have 1 domestic rabbit namely- Thumper, who lives in the triangle coop in the Eastfield.
We have 10 white doves , look out for the dove cote on the side of Eastfield Cottage, and watch the doves flying above you. We have 3 female Jacob sheep who have recently lambed for the 2nd year, so the flock now consists of 11 sheep in total, they help keep the grass down in the field, they are still a little shy but do come to the chicken sheds at night for their evening feed.
