The South Wales region
Glyn Cynwal Cottage is in an ideal location, nestled in the upper Swansea valley (9 miles from M4 Junction 45), on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and close to the Black Mountain. While the mountains are tempting for walking and cycling, the glorious Gower coastline is also only a short drive away, with its sandy beaches, wildlife and surfing.
Visit Craig-Y-Nos Country Park (7 miles), Cefn-Yr-Erw (5 miles) primate sanctuary or the Dan Yr Ogof caves (7 miles), or for a unique day out take a picnic to the spectacular waterfalls of the Vale of Neath (9 miles). If you prefer culture to climbing, visit Hay-on-Wye with its wealth of bookshops and famous festival, only around an hour away by car, or come for the International Jazz Festival nearby in Brecon every August. Porth-yr-Ogof waterfalls, Aberdulais Falls, Cwm Clydach RSPB Reserve, Aberglasney Gardens, Carreg Cennen Castle, Afan Forest Park and Dinefwr Park are all within easy reach. We're in a prime position to reach much of South Wales easily, and are always happy to recommend things to do and see.
Glyn Cynwal Isaf Cottage has views over Rhiwfawr and Gwrhyd mountain, Allt-y-Grug and The Black Mountain with excellent walking straight from the door and with lots to do; easily accessible to The Swansea Valley, Ystradgynlais and The Neath Valley. The Palleg Golf Course is a ten minute walk or drive away, and there are several pubs with restaurants less than ten minutes away in village.
