"Superb experience."

We've spend a fantastic looong weekend in the capel (We equals 4 Belgian adults and 5 children, but the cottage offers plenty of space for the parents and the teens). The place was impeccable and at night it is very quiet. You can easily park 3 cars on the property.
The large kitchen is well equipped: There is an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, two fridge freezers, a microwave… and a washing machine for those who plan to stay longer.
Perfectly located to explore South Wales. There are plenty of maps and leaflets in the lounge. And if it is too much or if you should be short in imagination, I can absolutely recommend: Rhossili & Worms head, Mumbles pier, Swansea waterfront, Cardiff (bay), Penderyn Distillery, Big pit (underground tour).

The owner was also very helpful in preparing our trip. Many many thanks !!

Hello there, I hope you are safely back home in Belgium. Thank you for your thorough review, it's great to see names of beautiful and interesting places to visit. Thank you also for taking care of the chapel during your stay, I'm glad to hear that it still felt spacious enough, even with the five children. Thank you once again, Yonni and Marnie

Hello there. Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We are glad you had good enough weather to visit The Gower (Three Cliffs Bay, etc); the views are truly breathtaking. Also pleased that eleven people did not make the chapel feel too crowded, it is larger than it appears on the website for sure. Thank you for looking after Capel Cartref during your visit. Hopefully, you will come back and fill it with your walking friends again soon... Take care and kind regards, Yonni and Marnie

"A fantastic, unique venue choice with all your needs catered for."

We stayed at the Carpel Cartref for a two night break away and we were not disappointed with our choice. The chapel is a stunning venue and Marnie ensured all our needs were catered for. The accommodation is spacious, clean and well equipped and oozes character and history. My two young children throughly enjoyed their stay too. We visited Rhossili Bay which was breathtaking and also the Henrynd Waterfalls. A great introduction to Wales. Thank you Marnie.

Hi there. Thank you so much for your positive feedback. We are so glad you all had a good time at the chapel. Children seem to love it there and we are very glad that your children did too; it's probably a bit of an adventure for them. We are very grateful to have a great location for visiting places such as Brecon and Rhosilli and we are especially grateful to you and your family for looking after Capel Cartref during your stay. Thank you so much, we hope you will one day, come back. Kind regards, Yonni and Marnie

"Perfect for large family/groups, great location"

I have stayed in quite a few holiday rental places over the years, and this is definitely up there with the best! Everything was as described, and the chapel is amazingly well renovated. Marnie's communication throughout the booking process (and arrival and leaving) was exemplary.

Our group consisted of 6 adults with one small baby and two dogs, and there was more than enough room for us all. The garden is plenty big enough for the dogs and well away from the road, and the provision of a hose was ideal for cleaning them down after long walks!

I can highly recommend the Ming Kee chinese takeaway, and also the New Tredegar Arms which is an easy one mile walk away in Upper Cwmtwrch. Local amenities are all very good (there is a Tescos, a Co-op and an Asda all within a 5 minute drive), as well as the Post Office shop next door.

Swansea is only 20 mins away, and the beautiful Gower peninsula just beyond that. I would also recommend a trip to the Henrhyd falls, only 15 mins drive away and absolutely spectacular!

Hello and thank you! A useful review with the recommendations, with regards especially to the local eateries. We are so glad that the chapel is 'up there with the best!' - the local 'hands-on' people deserve the credit for it's upkeep... we are very lucky to have such a team. Thank you for using the hose and for also leaving the chapel in a nice clean state. Please come back sometime soon. Kind regards, Yonni and Marnie

"Beautiful Converted Chapel"

Our family (6 adults, 2 young children and our dogs) stayed at Capel Cartref end of March 2014.
Firstly, the booking process went incredibly smooth thanks to Marnie. She ensured that whatever we needed (cot, baby gate etc) was ready and available for our arrival. Although I have not met her, I felt like she was an old friend of mine as she is so friendly and attentive in every email.
On our arrival at Capel Cartref we were blown away. The place is even more impressive than it appears in the photos. It's been renovated to an incredibly high standard and a great amount of thought and detail has gone in to every bit of space.
Every bedroom was beautifully furnished and all the bathrooms immaculately clean and spacious. The whole place is well equipped.
The best room by far is the large open plan lounge area that has 4 sofas, however we spend the most of our time sat in the kitchen/diner with the French doors open and enjoying the views over the river.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go back later this year.

Wow! What an amazing review! The photos are fabulous - thank you. It's great to be able to see you actually sitting in the chapel and using it as a family home - the children look well happy. We are so glad that you had a good time there and very glad to see that you will be coming back sometime soon. Thank you once again. Take care and kind regards, Yonni and Marnie
