Southern Wales region
An area with beautiful beaches, ancient castles, national parks (Brecon Beacons) and areas of outstanding natural beauty in the Gower peninsular. Great interactive museums reflecting on Welsh heritage eg Welsh Museum of Rural life at St Fagon's & the Big Pit mining museum. Fabulous plants at the Botanical Gardens. Great market towns. Activities such as surfing, hang-gliding, mountain biking, horse riding, sailing, fishing, golf and extreme sports as well as afternoon teas and local regional cuisine.
Well known as the gateway to Gower. However don't underestimate the beautiful beaches of Swansea, particularly Langland and Caswell. Swansea City Centre is compact with all the usual High Street shops plus an excellent indoor market which has great fresh produce including local cuisine such as Welsh Cakes and lavabread. The Mumbles area is noted for its independant shops and castle. Swansea has a number of Museums and an Art gallery with art work by renowned artists. There is an emphasis on activities for children in all the school holidays. This ranges from arts and crafts to cinema, xboxing, organised games on beaches and the junior park ranger activities. There is a lively bar and restaurant area in Wind St. Home to Swansea City Football club and the Ospreys rugby team, the area is also noted for activities such as surfing, sailing & fishing.

"This is the apartment to stay in when you visit Swansea"
We have stayed in St Margaret's Court the last four times we were in Swansea and can highly recommend it. It is roomy, clean and tidy with everything you could want in the rooms.
The view of the bay and Mumbles Head is amazing and you walk down the stairs (or lift) and out of the door onto the beach. In the other direction you can explore the marina and Sainsbury's is just a short walk for provisions. The centre of town is less than 10 minutes walk, so dining out and drinking are easily accessible. For the more cultured, the theatre and cinema are on the nearest side of town.
This will be our first choice when we visit Swansea again and you won't be disappointed if you make it yours.
