The flat is on the ground floor in a small block of nine situated on the waterfront of Swanage. The lounge/diner and two of the bedrooms feature panoramic views of the whole bay of Swanage. Even in bad weather the views can be spectacular, particularly when the sea is rough and the waves crash over the quayside and have been known to splash the windows!!

From the flat it is a short level walk to the main Swanage beach and town centre. In front of the flat is the old Stone Quay with fishing or sightseeing boat trips, and a small beach. The road directly behind the flat contains many restaurants and pubs, enabling guests to wander out of an evening without worrying about driving. There is reserved parking for 2 vehicles.

Main bedroom has king sized bed. There is a double bedded bedroom and a family room with a double bed and a high sleeper. All beds are extremely comfy - replaced summer 2008, pocket sprung/memory foam in 2 bedrooms and memory foam in other bedroom

Fully equipped bathroom has shower bath, sink, WC plus laundry facilities.

Patio doors from the lounge directly out onto a sea front patio with seating.

Next to property is a seafood bar selling fresh seafood and wonderful breakfasts.

5 min walk to supermarket and bakery as well as main beach (sandy blue flag beach) and many restaurants.

Many regular guests who are elderly or infirm, plenty to look at out of the windows if you can't get around. We have had many guests who are wheelchair users and have grab rails in toilets and shower. Best for wheelchair users who can manage a few steps.

One step to get into property then everything on the level.

The West Country region

The West Country has an excellent climate - sunny in the summer and mild winters, with beautiful coastline and with easy access to other coasts such as Devon. From this Victorian seaside resort, you are surrounded by beautiful countryside - mostly National Trust. At this holiday property you have a great seaview and are 300 metres from the sandy beach.

There are also many things to see and do - the Restored Steam Railway running to Corfe Castle, for example. We would recommend that you visit Corfe, Lulworth, Durdle door, Worth Matravers, Bournemouth, Blue Pool, there is also a Tank museum, a restored Pier. It is also lovely to take a boat trip, why not hire a boat round Poole Harbour, or try your hand at Poole pottery, and visit the wonderful factories.

When spring comes you have the wonderful March Blues Festival, and in the Autumn, the September Folk Festival and October Purbeck Film festival.At Christmas Swanage hosts the Victorian fair, and there is a year round weekly market.

"Sufficient to say that we have booked to return twice more this year!!"

"AN EXCELLENT BREAK"

Accommodation was located in an ideal position. Once parked up it was unnecessary to
use the car again. Accommodation was first class, could not fault it in any way. Located
close to shops and restaurants with pleasant walks along the sea front. Good public
transport and ramblers walks also within distance. The flat was clean and tidy upon
arrival with a local contact number is needed. Cannot wait to revisit again and thoroughly
recommend to families and also to people with disabilities.

"The nearest place to heaven"

So close to the ocean that on a wild day the spray splashes on the windows. The flat is very cosy and comfortable. Everything you need is right there. The owners have thought of everything from crab nets to a great selection of movies on DVD. Two fish and chip shops about 100 yds away and other great restaurants right nearby. The town center is very close too. This flat just couldn't be in a better location. Really, really, wonderful.

"Fabulous location. Disappointing accommodation"

Although this apartment was advertised as having wheelchair access, the bathroom was totally inadequate for anyone with mobility problems. The bath is very high and impossible for my friend to get into and there was no separate shower.
We could not get into the property on arrival as the key safe was broken. We had to phone the caretaker to find out how to gain access. The microwave was broken and we were lucky to be loaned one by the caretaker. He said a new one would be delivered during the week but it never arrived.
We felt that the facilities were very basic and for the price we paid we felt rather disappointed.
The major selling point for this accommodation is the the absolutely fabulous location. Couldn't fault it and will return to the area, but to a different apartment.

I always discuss with new guests the limitations of the flat with regard to wheelchair users - we are on the ground floor and it is quite easy to access the flat and great for those with limited mobility to watch the passers by and boats etc in the bay - however we are not a disability flat, we have only standard width doors etc. and yes the bathroom is difficult for those who have no ability to walk but we have provided grab rails and the bathroom is large enough for a wheelchair to get into.
The previous guests advised us the microwave was broken and I immediately ordered another one. My caretaker provided one of his own for the guests to use so they would not suffer without one and when my new one arrived he replaced it at the next changeover so as not to disturb them. The keysafe was not known to be broken and when we checked it it was working properly but it has now been replaced for security.
