Home description
This whitewashed period semi detached thatched cob cottage dates from the 17th Century and has lots of charm with its thick cob walls, tiny windows seats and beamed walls. It is in a quiet lane in the middle of the village of Studland. The cottage has been charmingly restored and re-thatched by it current owners and offers cosy accommodation on two floors.
The blue and white colour scheme is reflected thoughout the cottage from the pretty china on the welsh dresser to the charming prints in the two cosy bedrooms upstairs. Head height in the bedrooms is restricted so beware!
The world famous Studland beach is only a ten minute walk from the cottage and the location is a walker’s paradise with miles of dunes and sandy beaches of the Jurassic Coast to explore directly from the cottage.
Within walking distance of the property is an excellent village shop as well as an excellent pub.

The West Country / Dorset region
Dorset is a county of great beauty, a land of contrast and breathtaking scenery. It is one of the maritime counties of southern England and its coastline extends some 140 kilometres from Lyme Regis in the west to Christchurch in the east, and offers a selection of the finest sandy beaches to be found in the British Isles.
Dorset is frequently described as 'The Best of Both Worlds', for behind the varied coastline lies a county rich in archaeology, unspoilt rural villages and countryside, and a history to be proud of. From before Roman times, Dorset has been a jewel in England's crown, and the evidence of forefathers is plentiful.
Swanage / Studland area
The cottage is situated in the heart of the rural village of Studland, five miles east of Corfe Castle and 3 miles north east of Swanage. The South West Coastal path is a short distance away giving excellent walking and spectacular views of the Jurassic Coast.
The nearby town of Swanage offers local shopping and a regular bus service to Wareham and Poole. It is also possible to drive to Poole via the unique chain link ferry from Studland to Sandbanks allowing the visitor a glimpse of the playboy lifestyle of one of the most expensive property areas in the world.
An easy drive takes the visitor to many of Dorset’s attractions including Monkey World, The Bovington Tank Museum, Bournemouth, and Lulworth Cove to name but a few. Day trips to both Weymouth and Dorchester are also easily achieved from Studland.
All in all this is a wonderful location for the perfect getaway or as a base to explore the delights of Dorset.
