As the apartment is situated on the shoreline and is adjacent to the beach, you can be first to the best position in the morning and last to leave at the end of the day. Your car can be parked outside the front door for ease of access and for those 'days out and about' so there's the best of all worlds.

The West Country region
Dorset is situated in Southern England and has so much to offer having the sea and Jurassic coast as its southern most boundary, rolling hills, historic sites, villages with purbeck stone cottages, market towns and the lively connurbation of Bournemouth and Poole with modern shops and varied entertainments.
Dorset boasts the busy port of Weymouth in the West, the historic county town of Dorchester close to the Cerne Abbas Giant, the elevated town of Shaftesbury in the North and the ancient priory dominating the harbour and centre of Christchurch in the East. Further afield the New Forest, Stonehenge and the cultural cities of Salisbury, Bath and Exeter are to be visited and their beauty discovered.
The climate is mild all year round having the effect of the sea to keep the extremes of both heat and cold at bay - perfect spring, summer, autumn and winter days are to be found in this gem of an English resort.
Swanage is a busy little seaside town with a mile of safe and gentle shelving sandy beach (Blue Flag award in 2010), an old stone pier, a long, more recently built wooden pier, coastal footpath walks, caves, a country park, and many local shops, restaurants and pubs.
Swanage and the surrounding area boasts numerous activities to take part in, just a few of these are : watersports (sailing, rowing, wind and kite surfing), scuba diving, fishing (trips leave the old stone pier for Old Harry Rocks and Durlston Bay), crabbing (just below the apartment is the best line crabbing for children and adults in the world...possibly!), beach relaxation, golf (the stunningly situated Isle of Purbeck golf course is a mere 30mins drive away), tennis and putting, cycling (cycle hire is available from a number of different outlets), walking (the SW coastal footpath runs past Swanage), birdwatching (the scenic RSPB reserve at Arne is 10 miles), horse riding, gliding, and rock climbing (outdoor and indoor).
Local festivals include : Blues and Roots (March & Oct); Jazz (July); Swanage Regatta (July/Aug); Folk (Sept) and the Purbeck Arts week May/June).
Other places to visit include Lulworth, Durdle Door (a naturally eroded, giant stone arch standing proudly in the sea); Clouds Hill (home of Lawrence of Arabia); Thomas Hardy's cottage (local author); Monkey World (an ape rescue centre); Farmer Palmers and Putlake Adventure Centre (places to meet the animals, see the farm working at first hand and enjoy the home-made produce); Brownsea Island (home of the beginnings of the Scouting movement and a sancturay for wildlife including the red squirrel); Bovington Tank Museum; The Blue Pool; Moors Valley Country Park (encompassing Go Ape - a high rope experience in the tree tops) and not forgetting the Steam Railway which travels up the valley to Corfe Castle and transports you back to a bygone era.
