The East Anglia region
East Anglia is famous for its dry climate and beautiful skies. Although not everyone is lucky with the weather, East Anglia is the driest part of Britain and enjoys sunny days and clear nights. The countryside and coast are rich with variety from Thetford Forest to the seven miles of sand and sand dunes at Holkham, to the creaks and inlets at Blakeney and Cley. Interesting towns and villages inland hold a wealth of English history, Visit the historic cities of Norwich and King's Lynn of explore the countryside. Norfolk abounds with great walks or drives with friendly pubs and cafes for welcome breaks. Many old churches, windmills and ancient buildings add interest along the way.
Swaffham is the ideal central location for getting to know Norfolk. Midway between Norwich and King's Lynn, it is conveniently situated for visiting the royal estate at Sandringham, the Norfolk broads, local National Trust properties and the coast.
Swaffham is a traditional East Anglian market town (where the BBC series 'Kingdom' was set). It has regular indoor and outdoor markets with a Saturday auction and occasional international and local farmers' markets. Try our local book shop with cosy cafe and luscious home-made cakes or visit the Green Parrot for health food and therapies. The small local museum and information centre would be a good place to start your visit and find details of local activities and events. Lunch at one of the homely pubs or just get fish and chips from Mother Hubbard.
Additional interests include Peddars Way walks, bird reserves including Pensthorp, Cley and Welney, seal trips off Blakeney Point and outdoor pursuits at Santon Downham Forestry centre. Local paintballing, karting or ExTREEme tree top adventures may tempt the more active. Many people enjoy a visit to the Ecotech centre in the town.

I am so sorry Wren Cottage did not live up to your expectations and I am more sorry you did not tell us at the time when we could have addressed some of the issues. It is exactly as shown on the website. As for cleanliness, we have never had such a complaint and cannot see how this view could arise. We pride ourselves on the high standard we try to maintain but I guess you cannot please all the people all of the time. We must learn from reviews what we can.

"Lovely relaxed visit"
We stayed at Wren cottage at the end of the month as we were property viewing in Norfolk.
It was very central for us and the house filled all our needs.
It was lovely to be greeted by the owner with some fresh eggs from her chickens.
The house was warm and cosy and had a nice garden backing on to open fields to enjoy.
So glad you enjoyed Wren Cottage and Swaffham. You will be most welcome to return.
