Ideally situated for walking, cycling or driving around. Take a trip to the coast or sample the activities in the Forestry centre at Santon Downham. Use bicycles or take the bus for a day in the cities of Norwich or King's Lynn or a trip along the coast.
Visit the ruins and water meadow at nearby Castle Acre. Stop at the Ostrich for lunch or just a bowl of the greatest chips in their garden. Visit the ancient murals in the hidden church of St Mary's at Houghton on the Hill.You will never be bored!

The entrance lobby, convenient for coats and boots, leads into a through lounge with arched entrance to the dining area. French doors open onto the patio area and the garden. Well fitted kitchen looks out over the garden with open fields behind. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms, one with great views over the fields. Twin beds are available in one of the rooms if preferred. Modern bathroom with shower and bath facility. All linen and towels provided.

The cottage is in a quiet location on the edge of town with fields and open spaces adjacent. The garden leads directly onto footpaths and there is off street parking for 2 cars.
Towels and bed linen are provided. A high chair or child's chair will also be available on request.
The East Anglia region
East Anglia is famous for its dry climate and beautiful skies. Although not everyone is lucky with the weather, East Anglia is the driest part of Britain and enjoys sunny days and clear nights. The countryside and coast are rich with variety from Thetford Forest to the seven miles of sand and sand dunes at Holkham, to the creaks and inlets at Blakeney and Cley. Interesting towns and villages inland hold a wealth of English history, Visit the historic cities of Norwich and King's Lynn of explore the countryside. Norfolk abounds with great walks or drives with friendly pubs and cafes for welcome breaks. Many old churches, windmills and ancient buildings add interest along the way.
Swaffham is the ideal central location for getting to know Norfolk. Midway between Norwich and King's Lynn, it is conveniently situated for visiting the royal estate at Sandringham, the Norfolk broads, local National Trust properties and the coast.
Swaffham is a traditional East Anglian market town (where the BBC series 'Kingdom' was set). It has regular indoor and outdoor markets with a Saturday auction and occasional international and local farmers' markets. Try our local book shop with cosy cafe and luscious home-made cakes or visit the Green Parrot for health food and therapies. The small local museum and information centre would be a good place to start your visit and find details of local activities and events. Lunch at one of the homely pubs or just get fish and chips from Mother Hubbard.
Additional interests include Peddars Way walks, bird reserves including Pensthorp, Cley and Welney, seal trips off Blakeney Point and outdoor pursuits at Santon Downham Forestry centre. Local paintballing, karting or ExTREEme tree top adventures may tempt the more active. Many people enjoy a visit to the Ecotech centre in the town.
