The Surin Andaman Apartments are a magnificent complex of just twelve apartments, featuring a delightfully designed swimming pool as the centerpiece of the area. Each unit is newly built and contains the latest in modern amenities for your enjoyment. The apartments are large, stylish and comfortable, with two bedrooms each, and the master bedroom overlooking the pool area. The kitchen and living room areas are open plan for the ultimate in contemporary style. Each kitchen features marble/granite fittings, an oven and an extractor fan. The living room offers huge bed like sofa and a new Samsung 36 inch flat screen TV complete with DVD/VCD player, and satellite TV (UBC) comes as standard. The apartment is a 105 square meters in size.

The complex is fully furnished throughout with beds, sofas, tables, chairs and everything you would expect from an upscale apartment. All necessary linens, kitchenware, crockery and cutlery are also supplied as standard. Every room is air-conditioned, and you have the alternative of getting some fresh air from the sliding door facing the balcony which overlooks the pool. The apartments are surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens to enhance your sense of privacy and seclusion.

The apartments can be hired on a short-term or a long-term basis – obviously the longer you rent, the better the prices become. They are ideal for short-term holidaymakers and long-term expats alike. Both maid service and laundry services are available here on request. When you reserve the unit, you are welcome to ask for these facilities. Guests on a short-term holiday can enjoy free pickup from the airport. It is worth mentioning that every apartment has the option of access to an excellent free Wi-Fi internet connection - ideal for those that need to stay in touch with family, friends and business associates.

The apartments are ideally situated a short distance from Surin Beach, Bang Tao and Laem Sing Beach, three of the finest stretches of sand on the island of Phuket. There are many excellent local restaurants in the area, including of course the Surin Bay Inn, which will happily deliver takeaway food to your apartment upon request.

There are many excellent amenities nearby to ensure that you are always well-stocked with food, drink and all the other essentials of apartment-style living. There is a nearby 7/11 convenience store, which is open 24 hours a day and caters for all your basic needs. For more options, there are two Tesco Lotus supermarkets nearby which have a wide range of products available at extremely low prices. The Tesco Lotus on Surin Main Road is open 24 hours a day for the ultimate in convenience. The other Tesco Lotus store can be found in Bang Tao, and it is open from 0900-2100 hours. There is also a Mc Donalds for fast food.

The local markets offer great food and clothing at very affordable prices – the local vendors are largely catering to the nearby Thai population, so you can be assured that you are getting a good deal. It is usually worth bargaining when purchasing clothes from the markets – if you are handed a big calculator with a price, it is an open invitation to begin haggling, and prices can often go as low as 60%-70% off the original cost of the item. Smiling and complimenting the stall-holder can often get you the best deals possible!

There is a wealth of nearby restaurants for you to enjoy at the apartments – the fresh seafood available here is superb, and there are plenty of Thai as well as Western options, some at an excellent price. You may wish to try the restaurants at some of the upscale hotels where the food can be sensational. At the other end of the scale, street vendors will offer you delicious Thai food of many different varieties – the busiest vendors are usually offering the highest quality food at the best prices, if you don’t mind spending a little time queuing for your meal.

Surin has its very own shopping mall, the Surin Plaza, which is the home of many upscale shops and restaurants, and is well worth a visit.

Facilities

The apartment is designed to be modern, light and airy with open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The kitchen is equipped with oven, hob and extractor fans and finished in marble and granite.

The master bedroom is located towards the front of the apartment with views over the pool. The Bathroom is en suite and shared with the guest bedroom.

The apartment is fully furnished and appointed to include linens, cutlery, crockery and glassware.

The home has been decorated to a high standard and includes Satellite TV, and CD/DVD facilities. Air conditioning is standard throughout but large sliding doors and patios overlooking the pool allow for a fresh air option.

Maid service and laundry can be arranged at an additional cost, which you can pay directly to the maid. This works out so cost effective I would highly recommend this sewrvice to anyone. To arrange this facility please include a comment in your email, letting me know how often you require the maids services per week and when it is convenient for her to visit.

The Phuket region

Located approximately 862 kilometres south of Bangkok is Phuket, Thailand's largest island, which is often dubbed as the pearl of the Andaman, or the pearl of the south. Its natural resources- rocky peninsular, limestone cliffs, white powdery beaches, tranquil broad bays and tropical in-land forests contribute to making it the South's wealthiest, busiest, most visited and most popular island and province.

Staying on the island is easy, as there are only two seasons in a year - the rainy season (May to October) and the hot season (November to April). The low season of Phuket is between September and October as they are the wettest months. The best period for a visit, is from November to February, when it is possible to see the clear blue sky, feel the fresh sea breeze and marvel at the crystal clear water while lying on powdery, palm-fringed beaches. Average temperatures ranges between 23°C and 33°C.

The Surin / Cherngtalay area

Surin is a popular weekend spot, long visited by locals. The beach is long and uncluttered, with a beautifully grassed picnic area shaded by casuarina trees. This area is proving especially popular for family barbecues. Bring your own treats or sample from local vendors' satays and pancakes.

Close by is Bang Tao which is a study in contrasts, with the luxurious resorts and villas along its 8-kilometre stretch of beach just a few minutes' away from the town of Cherng Talay, where many villagers still make their living as their ancestors did - by fishing, farming and rubber tapping. The northern tip of the beach, so far untouched by development, is still an area where visitors might find that they have the beach to themselves.

Play a round of golf at the Laguna Phuket course, practise your swing on the driving range nearby or go horseback riding along the beach. Afterwards, indulge in a massage and spa treatment at the world renowned Banyan Tree spa or at other retreats nearby.

A few airlines will fly direct into Phuket airport which is a 20 min drive to the property. However, most flights from Europe will require a change at Bangkok thus presenting you with the opportunity for a few days stopover in this exiting city. Carriers supplying Phuket include Thai Air, Bangkok Airways and Phuket Air .... travel time is 1hr 20 mins. Air-conditioned and non air-conditioned buses leave Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal for Phuket several times daily. Trips by air-conditioned bus, which normally leaves in the evening, take about 13 hours.

There is no direct train service to Phuket. Plenty of car hire companies but you´re best sticking with the traditional (and more expensive) Avis and Hertz from a safety point of view. Taxis are cheap in Thailand also.

Directions by Taxi from Phuket International Airport:

Ask the taxi driver to head for Twinpalms Hotel at Surin Beach, go just passed Twin Palms on your right with the beach on your left approx 50m and take first right turn down a narrow concrete road. Follow the road down and to the left and you should be able to see the Surin Andaman Apartments (Formerly, Lersuang Apartments) ahead and to the left approx 150m.

Don't let the driver take you to Lersuang Club, which is the sister development just around the corner.

You should agree to pay 500 - 600 THB before you set off and this should be easy as all major destinations have a fixed price fare from the airport.

“Fabulous, family Thai holiday experience.” We stayed in Lersuang Apartment A5 for a month at Easter time. The appartment was prefectly appointed for our young family. We were minutes walk away from beautiful safe beaches, shops, restaurants and bars. The apartment is beautifully furnished and fully equiped with everything that we needed. The TV with English speaking premium channels was great for entertaining the kids at night and at the hottest time of day. The bedrooms were very spacious with plenty of storage and quality bedding. The pool is perfect for the whole family and was kept clean and safe as were the gardens. The apartments is fully airconditioned which was very much appreciated when we visited at the hottest time of the year in Phuket. Surin is a lovely resort which felt safe and friendly. There was a huge choice of restaurants and bars in Surin with a choice of western and Asian food and fabulous safe sandy beaches. We were so pampered whilst we visited and had the time of our lives! We were fortunate to visit whilst it was Sonkran - which was fantastatic! We had the most amazing day, got soaked to the skin for an entire day and were welcomed to join in the festivities by the locals! Can't wait to return!
