About the home

The Villa is in a small village, where everything is at a slow pace. There are two excellent restaurants within walking distance, one is within the new winery just opened in the village. Two village shops can also provide you with bread, milk, drinks, fruit, veg, etc at village prices.

The Villa has its own private pool and large terrace which has the sun all day. Or sit on one of the two balconys with views to the mountains. With one double and one twin bedroom it is ideal for famlies, or couples after a romantic break.

Luxury two storey villa, upper floor comprises of wetroom, twin bedroom and double bedroom both leading to balcony. Both bedrooms have air conditioning. Ground floor comprises of bathroom and open plan kitchen/diner with cooker, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer and dining table seating six. The lounge has a wood burning stove, 2 leather sofas one of which is a double sofa bed, a satellite tv and dvd is also available. The outside walled area has a 10mx4m private pool with good-sized terrace. The villa is in a rural village where neighbours keep a selection of animals, goats, sheep,etc. There are good views of the mountains from the Villa. There is no public transport from the village but car hire or taxi can be arranged, numbers for local taxies are in the villa, or you can use Nellys services to get around.

Chateau Medovo is a new ethnographic tourist complex built in authentic Bulgarian style, which includes a boutique winery, small hotel area, outdoor and indoor restaurant, handicraft artisan shops and more. Completed in 2006, the Chateau spans 9,000 m2 and is located 12 km west of Sunny Beach and 22 km north of Burgas, near the Black Sea coast and the mountain skirts of Stara Planina.

Airport transfer and a welcome pack will be provided by Nelly's Property Management Services, she will help you settle in and answer any questions. Nelly is a young local girl, she stays in the next village and speaks perfect english.

weeks of your departure, subject to satisfactory property inspection),

The Black Sea Coast region

The Sunny Beach area boasts 8kms of golden sand and is one of the few places along the Black Sea coast where you can still see authentic, well-formed sand dunes that preserve unique and unspoiled nature only found on this coast. The combination of forests, sandy beaches and sea provide a stunning backdrop to your Sunny Beach holiday.

From May through to September there are approximately 1700 hours of sunshine during which the average daily temperature is 27°C.

Just along from Sunny Beach you can discover the stunning cobbled town of Nessebar - which at over 2500 years old is one of the oldest towns in Europe. There you will find a unique and tranquil atmosphere that envelops the fantastic harbour fish restaurants, cafe’s and galleries. The town also features the remains of over 40 churches and Thracian ruins. Nessebar can be easily reached by bus, boat or mini train from Sunny Beach.

Day trips can also be made from Sunny Beach to Sozopol, Pomorie, Varna and even Turkey.

The Sunny Beach / Medovo area

The village is situated on the most eastern slopes of the Aitos section of the Balkan Range, on a hilly slope with a northern exposure, and is very close to the Biberna summit above the town of Kableshkovo (from the summit there are view to Pomorie, Bourgas, Chernomoretz and Sozopol). Medovo has a mild climate and a multitude of mineral springs. North-west of the village of Medovo flows the Aheloi river, on which is built the Aheloi dam - one of the most beautiful and clean dams in the Burgas region

There are several small shops in the village where you can purchase your every day needs, at village prices.
A new winery opened in the village in 2007, where the have tours and wine tasting most days in the summer.
There are also two excellent restaurants in the village where you can have a really cheap meal and drink.

Chateau Medovo Winery
The highlight of the complex is the boutique winery and cellar. Equipped with modern wine-making technology, the winery has a capacity of 400,000 bottles of whites and reds per year. The unique construction of the facility allows guests to observe the wine-making process as well as the cellar where the wine ages in oak barrels and bottles. There is a specially equipped wine-tasting room and two wine shops where the products of Chateau Medovo and its affiliate brands can be purchased.

Restaurant
More culture and tradition are revealed through the authentic Bulgarian cuisine offered in the amphitheatric restaurant – an open-air seating area that hosts up to 450 people. A smaller indoor salon with 50 seats operates year-round, and caters to the special tastes of the guests. During the summer season the outdoor restaurant also offers viewing of exclusive music and dance performances, and original folklore spectacles.

Handicrafts Street
A key attraction inside the Chateau is the Handicrafts Street where various artisans using original Middle Age techniques are producing pottery, silver, knives and swords, copper, textiles, woodwork, and others. In addition, visitors are able to see and taste home-made foods such as khalva, Turkish delight, coffee on sand, white jam, and others. Visitors may volunteer to participate and to be trained in any of the handicrafts. The workshops on the Street remain open from 10:00 to 21:00 o’clock Monday through Sunday during the summer season.

Just to say that we have had a wonderful holiday and we have very much appreciated your house and of course also the beautiful swimming pool. Medovo is a really nice village and a welcome Bulgarian flavour after a day in Sunny beach!! It is very well situiated as well, so easy to go to other places such as Nessebar, Burgas and Sozopol. We also went on an overnight trip to Veliko Turnova, which was also very nice and a beautiful trip.

Last but not least, the welcome by Nelly was also very good and we found the house (and pool) immaculately clean,
