Sunny Beach area
Sunny Beach has a wide semi-circular bay facing east. The Blue Flag beach is over 8km long with 30-60 metres wide of golden sand. The resort boasts approximately 1700 hours of sunshine from May through to September, which attracts sun worshippers.
A wide variety of entertainment is available including folk shows; nights clubs; bars and casinos. There is also a wide choice of restaurants, which offer food from every continent. We have enjoyed the atmosphere and food at the "Aruba" restaurant which is close to the apartment and "memories" restaurant in town centre is also excellent.
Lots of opportunities for the sports enthusiasts including: horse riding, tennis, mini-golf, surfing, jet skis, water skiing and parachuting.Sunny Beach also boasts 2 Aqua Parks. The resort is perfect for children with playgrounds and a variety of fun and games.
Lying to the south of Sunny Beach is a small peninsula where Nessebar is located – an architectural and historic monument of Bulgarian culture. Nessebar is a Unesco World Heritage town with old fashioned cobbled streets, restaurants and shops. It has narrow cobblestone lanes, tiny squares, two-storied period houses with stone built ground levels and wooden upper floors.
Nessebar gives an upreatable opportunity for recreation and attractions. Many restaurants have views across the bay to Sunny Beach, the food in Hemmingways is to be recommended.
For an authentic view of Bulgaria, take an organised excursion or hire a taxi to visit further inland.
Central Sunny Beach and Nessebar are both easily accessible by bus (bus stop located within 2 minutes walk of the apartment), taxi or the road train. Bourgas and Varna are also accessible by public transport.
How to get there
The apartment is 25 minutes by taxi from Bourgas airport just 35km (22 miles) from Sunny Beach.
Taxi transfers can be arranged on request (approx €25). Charter flight fly directly from most airports in the UK. Schedule flights with Wizz Air (www.wizzair.com) and Sky Europe (www.skyeurope.co.uk) are currently available.
Several low cost airlines are looking at providing options to Bourgas for 2007.
