The Black Sea Coast region
The Bulgarian coastal stretch faces east, offering a wonderful view of the sun coming up over the water and extends over 378 km, dotted with vast beaches covered with fine golden sand. The majority of Bulgaria beaches have been awarded the EU Blue Flag for their environmental exellence. All the resorts are within easy access to Bulgaria's many inland attractions, which include Roman ruins, ancient castles and monasteries, and many vineyards. The waters of the Black Sea are calm and without strong tides, making them ideal for children.
To the south, the coast is flatter and wilder, with the thick forests of the Strandzha mountain contrasting breathtakingly with hundreds of cosy beaches stretching between the jutty rocks of the mountain. Settlements here are small and picturesque with the most beloved one being Sozopol for its unique architecture and ancient spirit. To the north, the coast is steeper though more developed in terms of tourism facilities, while views down to the sea are unforgettable. . The so-called sea capital of the state, Varna, can be found here. The ancient town of Nessebar is situated at the southern end of Sunny Beach and rivals the charm of Sozopol for its well-preserved remains of ancient times.
The sandy sea bottom slopes gently, making bathing and swimming safe for even the youngest holidaymakers. The Black Sea is half as saline as the Mediterranean.
Summer temperates vary between 25°C and 27°C, water temperatures between 17°C and 25°C. There are more than 240 hours of sunshine in May and September, and more than 300 in July and August.
Sunny Beach area
Sunny Beach is the biggest and the sunniest resort, with the longest and the widest beach strip, with hotels spread along the beach and among the dunes. It is situated in the southern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea Riviera, stretching along a beautiful semi-circular bay protected by the slopes of the Balkan mountains to the north. Average temperature in summer is 28 deg C, water temperature 25 deg C. The resort's 8 km (5 miles) stretch of golden sands, natural dunes and clean calm sea, make it preferable for family tourism. Sunny Beach resort has been awarded the prestigeous Blue Flag International prize.
There is an abundance of water sports available on the beach and there are regular water ferry trips across the bay to the delightful 4000 year old town of Nessebar.
The resort has over 130 catering establishments: restaurants, taverns with folklore shows, bars with floor shows, night clubs, a casino, discos and cafes that provide culinary pleasures and a good mood. For sightseeing you can hire a four wheel family bike, or take a small picturesque train, which can take you through the whole complex of Sunny Beach by the sea alley and will lead you to the famous town of Old Nessebar. Car hire also available in the complex of Sunny Beach, there are a lot of places of interest to visit arround the place.
How to get there
Fly to: Bourgas Airport, (35km)25 mins from Sunny Beach and Varna Airport, (95km) 1 hour and 30 mins from Sunny Beach. Flights to Bourgas operate through the summer months May to October, while flights to Varna operate throughout the year.
Charter airlines fly direct to Bourgas during the summer months, these include; Thomson (Britannia airways), Thomas Cook Airlines, Excel Airlines, Balkan, First Choice holidays, these operate from most regional airports throughout the UK. Scheduled airlines include; Malev airlines, who fly out of Heathrow and Stanstead via Budapest (www.Malev.com)
From 31st May Bulgaria-Air will fly from London Gatwick to Bourgas twice a week making a long weekend break an option. The budget airline Wizz-Air will fly from Luton to Bourgas starting at £19.99 each way from May 2006. (www.wizzair.com)

Access to the balcony is available from both the living room and the bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle. There is a dining area with an oval table and four dining chairs. In the light and airy bedroom is a spacious king size bed, a double wardrobe, dressing table and chair. The bathroom is fully tiled throughout and has a bath with shower, wash basin and w.c. In the lounge area there is satellite TV and a DVD player.

It has a large swimming pool, a separate children's pool, 24 hour security, car parking facilities and intercom system.
