About this location
The Dalmatia region
Dalmatia is the southern coastal region of Croatia on the Adriatic Sea. With hundreds of islands and beautiful clima it is paradise for tourists and travellers.
City of Split, the main port for travel to the Adriatic islands, is also home to the Diocletian Palace, built by the Roman Emperor Diocletian at the end of the third century AD. The Palace forms the core of the old town and has been adapted and remodelled throughout the ages so that it displays a breath-taking mix of architecture from the Roman through to the later Venetian period. Worth to pay visit!
Island of Brac is one of the most beautiful gems of the Dalmatian islands, it is loved for beautiful unspoiled cove's beaches, clear sea, rolling hills, breath taking scenery, olive, fig, pine trees, virgin bays, breath taking scenery guarantees unforgettable getaway to paradise. A road network has been constructed throughout the island and multiple ferry lines connect it with its neighbouring islands and mainland. With this, travellers can experience the Brac's 23 villages, rich cultural heritage, dating back to pre-historic times.
Sumartin is the youngest pictorescque fishermen village on the island Brac. It is worth to visit the Museum of Franciscan monastery of fra Andrija Kacic - Miosic, which has very worthy paintings (among them especially the early baroque Last Supper-Posljednja Vecera, from the second half of the 17th century). The documents, written in BOSANCICA from the period of 1655 - 1755 are also valuable.
Villa Vicko is a gem of the village Sumartin!
