La Casa Eva is a typical Italian stonehouse, which we have fully restored to the highest standards and situated in the historic medieval village of Introdacqua near the ancient city of Sulmona in the L`Aquila region of Italy.
The second floor has the kitchen, dining room, lounge, office which opens onto lovely balcony, great for those sunny morning breakfasts There is a laundry with a toilet and shower. There is also an open fire in the lounge.
The next floor has the master bedroom with another double room. The main bathroom is on this floor.
There is another large balcony off the bedroom for relaxing evening drinks.
Introdacqua is one of the 50 listed 'Borghi più belli d'italia' (the most beautiful villages in Italy). During the summer months the village is particularly vibrant with jazz festivals, live entertainment, dancing and alfresco eating in the piazza.
Casa Eva is close by to the centre of Introdacqua, where there are 2 bars, deli, restaurants, chemist, butcher and bank. Nearby you can find trails and paths for the leisure walker or a serious hiker with trails to suit every ability.
There is free WiFi in the bar just up the road.
The famous Giro D'Italia passes through this region each May, a great base for your cycling holiday. THere are many ski resorts in the area, Roccarasso being the largest and suitable for all types of ski and snowboard fans. The main ski season runs from January to March.
Sulmona is just a few km away where you will find the twice weekly market in the huge tree lined Piazza Garibaldi surrounded by cafes, bars and restaurants.Every summer during July there is a jousting competition which is attended from entrants from all over Europe. There are many boutique style shops and a few well know high street names. There is a regular bus service from Introdacqua, but a car is recommended to make the most of what the area has to offer. Within 30 minutes drive you'll find lakes, natural springs, ancient hermitages, national parks, Roman architecture, historic churches and much more, all set in stunning, green mountain scenery.
The beaches along the Adriatic coast are less than an hour away. Rome is only two hours away (by car) or there's a train or regular coach service from Sulmona, with Naples, Pompei and the Amalfi coast three hours away.
Airports are Pescara (40 minutes drive) and Rome Ciampino (1 hour 20 minutes) and Fiumincino (1 hour 40 minutes). The main east west motorways pass within 10 km of Sulmona so you are within easy reach of both coasts.

The Marche/Abruzzo region
Introdacqua is a comune and town in the Province of L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It has been voted as one of the 50 most beautiful villages in Italy.
For most of the year it is a peaceful village, ideal for a quiet walk, cycle, skiing or sightseeing. During August the village comes alive with festivals, jazz, comedy and outdoor cinema evenings. Nearby Sulmona also hosts an annual jousting festival with medieval reenactments being displayed by people from all over Europe.
There village has cafes, restaurants, a small supermarket deli, chemist, bank and a weekly market. All you need within a few paces. The local town of Sulmona is a few km away and has many boutique shops, supermarkets and restaurants. It is also well known for its sugared almonds (confetti) factory. The original one being used now as a tourist attraction.
The ski resorts are just a 30 minute drive away and have a large number of slopes that never get too busy. They are well known by the Romans as their favorite winter destination.
Cyclist will love the quiet winding roads which are used as part of the Giro D'Italia every May.
Walkers will love the open mountains and woodland, rich in wildlife, streams and lakes.
Still, you are within a hours drive of the Adriatic coast with its fabulous beaches and calm waters.
Nearby you have Lake Scanno, ideal for a summers swim or walk anytime of the year.
There are numerous ski resorts, the largest being Roccaraso. With 120km of piste at an altitude of 1300m to 2100m it provides ample winter skiing with runs to accommodate all tastes.
The mountains also provide plenty of walks and cycle routes. With the mighty Gran Sasso and many national parks.
Shoppers will love the boutiques in Sulmona and foodies the restaurants with their local fresh produce.
