Set in idyllic countryside on the Suffolk/Essex border, this cottage is part of a grade II* listed farmhouse dating back to the 15th century and mentioned as a manor in the Domeday book. It has been tastefully renovated, with some exposed beams, limewashed walls, brick floors and inglenook fireplace. As well as the sitting room with sofas and woodburner, there is a kitchen dining room with hob, cooker and granite work surfaces together with a conservatory which provides a great extra summer dining space. The cottage is heated by the woodburner (all logs included) and oil filled radiators. One double bedroom and one twin bedroom with pine and painted country furniture. There are glorious countryside views from the cottage with its own secluded garden, patio with outdoor furniture and BBQ and access to the shared 4 acre grounds, including kitchen vegetable garden, fruit garden, orchard and fields with a small flock of pedigree Suffolk sheep. Located 1/2 mile up a track in a beautifully rural setting, yet within easy reach of Sudbury (3 miles) and the local historic villages of Lavenham, Long Melford, Cavendish & Clare. This is the countryside of local painters Constable and Gainsborough with Flatford and Dedham nearby. The beaches of the Suffolk and Essex Coast are not far and Cambridge and Newmarket also make good days out. Horse riding, cycling, swimming, sailing, golf & spa available locally - with a storage area for bikes and horses can be brought by arrangement. Excellent range of local footpaths and bridleways for walking etc. Local village with farm shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile and several other good pub restaurants make a pleasant walk.
