Home description

"6,000 miles was along way to fly but coming here felt like COMING HOME. Such a charming cottage and so lovely to meet a landlady with passion and a professional approach to her property. Our stay here was perfect. We would love to come back again.” 27-30 Jan. Gareth & Deb--Hong Kong

Hillcrest has a warm ,friendly, happy atmosphere. It is strictly no chintz decor, .But the views will take your breath away!! A visit to my website is a must to see what is on offer at the cottage and in the area.
We are happy to offer weekend breaks and midweek breaks all year.We also welcome well behaved children.

As well as all expected facilites there is sandwich maker , juicer, picnic basket, foldaway chairs, BBQ, footspa for walkers or shopaholics and much more.If you have a special requirement we try to help there too,if notified inadvance.
The cottage has been host to many wedding couples who have wed locally and hosted many honeymoons too. We have 4 booked for next year. (You are welcome to inspect the cottages on change over days if in the area or have someone do it on your behalf).

The area is beautiful, excellent for walking, eating out, AWARD WINNING Farmers Market just 2 miles away and bring your golf clubs too and enjoy the challenge of the oldest golf course in Britain, amid the roaming cows in the summer.
Enjoy a traditional picnic watching a polo match on a Sunday afternoon, this is the way to destress and remember what life should be about. You can learn to waterski in the safety of the lakes at the Cotswolds WaterPark or try hotair balloon flight or a glider lessons back over the cottage.
Enjoy some equestrian events at Gatcombe Park 2 miles or Badminton 8miles,Cheltenham Gold Cup or take a hack or formal lesson at our great local stables.
We have so many arty festivals and things to do, you will be spoilt!
Bath is only 35 mins by car. and the beautiful Westonbirt Arboretum just 15 minutes.

There is so much going on locally you really can "live the area" without going more than a few minutes from the doorstep to fulfill your time here or simply sit back and chill.

The success of Hillcrest led us to the fantastic renovation of Ambrose Cottage and of course we are only to happy to let guests see what we have been up to, if Ambrose cottage is not booked, please ask.(I love it!)

We welcome all well behaved children , with travel cot booster high chair ,baby bath all available with no charge . We can offer baby sitting too.

I know that even if you do not decide on our cottage(cant think why not ) but still try the Stroud valleys -they are truly beautiful and visit the award winning Farmers market. It puts todays stresses back in perspective!!

The Central England / Cotswolds / Cheltenham / Gloucester region

Looking up to 600 acres of NT common land with free roaming cows in warmer months and a public golf course too; with kite fliers, walkers and cyclists a plateau with views into so many valleys.Walks with amazing views listed in cottage and from the doorstep with pub stops on route.

This is a very arty area of the Cotswolds with numerous festivals taking place all year. We have the famous Cheese Roll and Tetbury Woolsack Races, Gatcombe and Badminton Horse trials, Cheltenham Race festival too.

Brimscombe Port is below us and was once known worldwide as exporter of top quality wool from the Cotswolds, today it is undergoing the very start of restoration, eventually to make the local canals navigable again and finally to link the River Severn to the River Thames, making England navigable by water from west to east!

We have gardens and castles, shopping centres or for antiques and architectural salvage, but are roughly central in the Cotswolds for Bath, Cheltenham, Oxford, Stow, Burford, Cirencester etc

Stroud / Minchinhampton area

The award winning Farmers' Market just 2 miles away in Stroud every Saturday is well worth a visit for your locally harvested, organic produce and the craft market too. You can visit Prince Charles' shop the Highgrove in Tetbury High Street or enjoy the antique shops. Nearby is Westonbirt arboretum with summer concerts but beautiful all year.

Nailsworth is just 2 miles away and great for shopping from local artists works, painting, jewellery, pottery and a good oyster bar at Williams kitchen too . We love it!

Riding ,gliding, ballooning, waterskiing on lake - we can help to organise all these for you or simply chill and we will tell you what is happening the time of your stay.
