A beautiful period Cotswold detached cottage set at the entrance to Rodborough Common. Built in the 1850's the accommodation beautifully blends the old with the new., the cottage has just undergone a complete refurbishment from top to bottom. It has lovely thick stone walls, set on split levels with wide twisting stairwells. The modern contemporary kitchen has been tastefully designed and is fitted with everything you will need for your stay.. The bedrooms are light and airy and finished with superior quality mattresses for your comfort. Linen & towels are provided for your stay.

The main sitting room is a cosy size and has a wood burning stove, flat screen television, Netflix & Wifi access. There is another little snug area beyond with further seating.. on the upper level you will find the modern kitchen. There is also a downstairs toilet area off the main entrance hall. The first floor contains a twin bedded room with television/DVD, guest bed mattresses stored underneath the beds allow for additional sleeping if required. A second double bedroom can be found across the landing with King-size luxury bed and contemporary shower room. The top floor roof space houses another double bedroom with king-size bed, stunning views over Stroud's rolling countryside, off this a family bathroom can be found with WC, bath and shower over (please note the top floor has some restricted head room in the bedroom and bathroom).

Outside is a small private courtyard area with seating and a gas BBQ. There is no parking directly outside the house, being sited in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty parking can found easily 150 yards from the cottage, up or downhill.

A 10 minute walk from the front door will take you up on to Rodborough common with its breath-taking views across the Stroud valleys. Ideally situated if you want to explore Stroud, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester & Tetbury as well as the many other idyllic Cotswold villages in the area! Stroud town centre is only a couple of miles from your cottage.

Given the house's wealth of character; beams, stone walls, turning stairwells and picture-perfect window seats, it is ideally suited for children aged 5 and over. Small well-behaved dogs are welcome. Stroud

Rodborough Common lies just to the north of Minchinhampton Common and offers a dramatic panorama overlooking Stroud and the Severn Vale. It is renowned for its colourful array of wild flowers and butterflies, starting with the pasque flower in spring and a superb display of early purple orchids in May.

Minchinhampton Common a few miles further is a large swathe of open grassland on the hill top and slopes of the Cotswold escarpment. It is a really important archaeological landscape, with prehistoric field systems, burial mounds and the remains of a defensive earthwork, known as The Bulwarks. In the summer the common is grazed by local commoners' cattle, drive along enjoy the views and give way to the local cattle!!!
