This spacious Grade II listed former village shop, built in the 15th century, was converted into a family home last year and is situated in the heart of the beautiful Cotswold village of Minchinhampton. It features plenty of period features such as wooden beams, ledge and brace doors and exposed stonework, all complemented by modern conveniences and facilities. It is the ideal base from which to explore the idyllic Cotswolds with scenic walks and 1,000 acres of panoramic National Trust common land just a few minutes walk away. The local shops are literally on the doorstep, along with many excellent, award-winning eateries.
The shop has been turned into a spectacularly spacious kitchen diner, featuring original stone fireplaces (log burner), a breakfast bar with 4 height-adjustable swivel bar stools, a walk-in larder and a 32" LCD TV with built in Freeview. The large, brushed steel under-mounted sink has a filtered water tap and the cabinets have soft-closing doors and magic corner unit, as well as solid wood work surfaces. Appliances include a capacious American fridge freezer, Bosch dishwasher, 5 ring hob with wok burner and built in electric oven.

On the ground floor is the kitchen diner with french windows leading out to the south facing garden. There is also a large 'boot' room with dart board and a separate downstairs WC with washing machine and clothes drying facilities. A hand crafted, custom made stone staircase with ornate iron balustrade leads from the kitchen diner up to the first floor.
First floor: the staircase opens into a charming, double-aspect living room with two sofas, original stonework, beams and a feature 'inglenook' in front of one of the leaded light windows with plenty of seating room. There is a 42" LED LCD HD TV with Sky Plus and Smart TV, so you can browse the web via WiFi using the TV screen. There is a DVD player and a selection of DVDs, games and books for guests to use during their stay. Also on this floor is bedroom 4, which has 2 single beds, feature window and a mini hi-fi (with CD player, radio and MP3 player input). Opposite this is the shower room with deluxe walk-in shower, shaving mirror and leaded light period windows.
Second floor: this is reached via two separate staircases, one of which leads to bedroom 1 with a double bed, leaded light window and skylight. From here access can be gained to bedroom 3, a large room which contains a single 3ft cabin bed with removable slide, ladder and space below this for another mattress. Whilst the room is set up for children, it would easily suit young at heart adults!
From here you exit onto a landing that leads to bedroom 2, with King Size bed and period features. Next door to this is the family bathroom which features a luxurious roll-top bath with traditional, hand-held shower mixer, as well as beams and a large towel rail. (NB: all 3 of the house's toilets have soft-close seats.) A separate oak staircase leads from the landing down into the living room on the first floor.
Outside is an enclosed south-facing garden containing a small lawned area and patio with table, chairs and parasol, so you can sit and enjoy a drink or meal al fresco. There is also private parking here for 2-3 cars.
This property is perfect for one or two families, or a group of friends, but is not suitable for toddlers, due to the stone stairs leading up from the kitchen to the living room.

Please note that this is our family home (the only one we have!) and as such, our personal effects will still be in the house when you come to stay. We will obviously provide enough space for you to store your belongings but please be aware that the 'decor' in the children's rooms may be somewhat personalised!
