Trillgate is a stunning grade II listed property set in the beautiful Slad valley, (made famous by Laurie Lee's Cider with Rosie). The surrounding countryside is a patchword of fields woodlands, streams, quiet little valleys. This is the perfect place to escape from it all. The house is set in two acres of it's own land, and has all the modern facilities necessary to accomodate 11 guests, there are four bedrooms, two living rooms a large kitchen/diner, outside entertaining space, a large garden, Spectacular views, 3 bathrooms, 3 woodburning stoves. The house has many of it's original features, large beams, inglenook fireplaces, stone spiral staircase etc. while still providing the modern convenience expected by most people i.e satelite tv, high speed broadband, modern equiped kitchen, bbq's en suite bedroom.

The most spectacular part of Trillgate though, is it's location, set at the head of the Slad valley it enjoys spectucular uninterrupted views all around. You can come here and not have to bump into anyone else if you so choose, you are truely away from it all, while still be close enough for things not to be too far away when needed. The local town of Stroud, which has a Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Tesco's is only 4 miles away.

There are four bedrooms:

bedroom 1: contains a double bed and single bed portable tv and satelite connection, it is south facing and above the kitchen. accessed via the stone spiral staircase.

Bedroom 2: Contains a doulble bed, and has a large tv with satelite connection there is an en suite bathroom with large powerful quadrant shower.

Bedroom 3: contains a double bed.

Bedroom 4: contains a double bed and set of bunkbeds.

All bedrooms have cloth storage areas.

There is a modest family bathroom upstairs with double ended bath and over power shower.

Downstairs there is a large living room with woodburning stove and windows looking out on three aspects.

Another living room containing a Tv/dvd/satelite. and woodburning stove.

Hall, containing shower room: and washing machine and tumble dryer.

Kitchen: containing woodburning stove, gas cooker, larder, cd/tape/radio, large kitchen table looking out over garde, window seat, microwave, two fridges, dishwasher and lots of kitchen equipment, all plates cutler etc provided.

There is a large garden that is mainly south facing and mainly laid to lawn, with pretty flower beds. There are garden seating areas to accomodate 11+ people. swing seat, patio, two bbq's.

The book Trillgate 20% of the fee is payable upfront the remainder is due two month prior to your stay. A £100 damage deposit is payable on booking which is returned to you within two weeks of departure as per terms laid out in contract. Guests are required to complete a sign a basic contract.

The Central England/Cotswolds region

The cotwolds commonly know for bourton-on-the water, this part of the cotswolds is much pretty not as touristy and unspoilt. There are fantastic walks in this hilly picturesque part of the countryside, lots of woodlands streams and private secluded valleys. Stunning views of the seven can be seem from one of the many hills around, Swifts hill is the closest to Trillgate.

Traditional a wool milling area, there are lots of mills and large old properties funded by this industry.


Stroud is a market town there are all the shops one would need: Waitrose, Sainsbury's Tescos. and mainline railway station which is a 90 min journey to London Paddington.

There is a great flea market in stroud on a friday morning in the shamles and a wonderful farmers market on a a saturday morning.

"Idyllic stay"

Had a wonderful weekend at Trillgate with all the family to celebrate my husband's 70th. Unfortunately the weekend wasn't long enough. Caitlin did everything to make our stay homely - welcoming us with home made cake and bread. Staying here made you forget about the outside world. The children loved roaming the grounds and playing hide and seek in the house. Ideal for walking and ending up at the local pub. We all want to go again for longer. The weather was perfect - warm and sunny, which we didn't expect in October - which helped the outdoor existence. The cooker was basic and would have been difficult cooking main meals for a large group, but the local pubs served great meals.
