The Central England/Cotswolds region
Gloucestershire is a beautiful county. There are many walks - including the Cotswold Way which can be joined at Uley, 3-4 miles away from the Coach House. Bath, Cheltenham and Bibury are 35 minutes away and Cirencester only a 20 minutes drive from Nailsworth. The pretty villages of Slad and Painswick are close by. All have lovely pubs and cafes and interesting shops.
There are many activities available in and around Nailsworth. Walking, cycling, horse riding, golf, gliding and a spa at Calcot Manor are all nearby.
Nailsworth is a lively town and has its own festival each April. It has its own Town Information Centre which is fully up-to-date with local events.
There is a farmer's market in Nailsworth held each month and the country's best farmer's market held each week is at Stroud, 4 miles away!
Gatcombe and Badminton are a short drive away for horse lovers!
Other interesting places to visit include Westonbirt Arboretum, Woodchester Mansion, Berkeley Castle, The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge, Ruskin Mill in Nailsworth and Syrham Park.
Numerous painters, sculptors, potters and textile artists live around this area and frequently have their studios open for visitors.

This little cottage was perfect for the two of us and is sat at the top of a little hill backing onto fields and some lovely walks in the countryside.

"Charming Cottage, Great Location!"
We had a wonderful stay in this charming cottage. It was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We found it easy to walk into Nailsworth and to explore the Cotswold countryside with our dog. The cottage was very well equipped and we will definitely recommend it to friends and family! We will be back!

"Lovely cottage, but now a little tired"
Enjoyed our stay. But things need upgrading. Decor very dated.
For instance settees well-used and not so comfortable as I'm sure they once were. Lighting in kitchen area very poor and a bit worried about the wiring! No plastic containers for food storage in fridge.
Worst problem for us was parking with our estate car. Very difficult to do a tight left hand turn without damaging underside of car. Whichever way you come up Rockness , it's still difficult to reverse out.
Thank you for your comments. We do offer parking next door for those who find it awkward at The Coach House and this was taken up. New cushions for the sofas have arrived and the kitchen lights have been changed.
