Cottage | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 5
Located on a quiet lane with beautiful views across the valley, our stone cottage was originally home to workers in the local quarry and textile mills. Sensitively restored and decorated in a bright modern style it now provides comfortable accommodation with a contemporary twist whilst still retaining bags of character with thick walls, exposed stone, winder stairs and wooden beams.
There are lovely country walks right from the front door yet the busting little town of Nailsworth with a great range of pubs, restaurants and independent shops is just ten minutes walk away. We think this is by far the best bit of the Cotswolds - less busy than the tourist hotspots and with a more varied landscape. There are high commons with breath taking views, secret valleys with clusters of stone cottage clinging to the hillsides, unspoilt little market towns and villages to explore and great food, much of it locally produced. Cirencester, Tetbury, Stroud, Cheltenham and Gloucester are all within easy reach.
Stonecutters accommodates up to 5 people, is centrally heated and has Wifi. Downstairs there is a well equipped kitchen, a dining area with French windows opening onto the garden and a cosy living room with a gas-fired wood burner. On the first floor there is a double bedroom with views across the valley, a single bedroom and a bathroom with shower and bath. A second double bedroom is located on the top floor which is flooded with light. Outside there is a pretty garden and a garden room equipped with traditional pub games. There is a dedicated car parking space at the front of the cottage and parking on the lane. Colourful fabrics, simple furniture and a tasteful paint scheme lend the house a bright modern feel and well chosen pictures and the odd retro find complement the style. .
