Cosy one bedroom ground floor apartment for two with luxurious bathroom, petite living room with kitchen & breakfast bar, and double sofabed for additional guest(s). Fully flexible booking periods. Situated in Brimscombe in the Golden Valley, convenient for local stores, pub, takeaway & canal walks starting at the former Brimscombe Port opposite. Quality bed with 100% cotton linen. Choice of feather or hypoallergenic duvets and pillows. Fluffy white towels, robes and slippers. Full Sky TV package, flat screen TV, wireless internet.

Fully flexible booking periods. All bed linen is 100% cotton, and the mattresses are high quality for a comfortable night's sleep. 100% cotton dust mite proof barrier cases on mattresses and pillows. The bathroom includes an over bath shower. Wireless internet access is available (bring your own laptop), and full Sky satellite package (movies, music, sports, children's tv) provided. Travel cot and highchair available (cot linen not usually provided unless specifically requested).

Basic items such as toiletries, washing up liquid, are provided for at least the initial 2 or 3 days, also milk, tea/coffee/sugar/biscuits on arrival.

Port House Apartment occupies part of the ground floor of the larger main house, and is accessed via a separate side entrance from the street. There is an interconnecting door from the Apartment reception room to the hallway of the main house, which is locked on both sides when the two parts of the property are occupied seperately.

The Stroud / Brimscombe area

Port House is set back from the A419 London Road on the slip road Gordon Terrace, just beyond the row of local shops.

By car, Port House is situated 12km from junction 13 of the M5, or 30km from junction 18 of the M4. Detailed driving directions will be provided for your journey on request at the time of booking.

By train, Port House is a 10 minute taxi journey from Stroud station. Stroud is on the main line into London Paddington, journey time 1 hour 35 minute.

By coach, Port House is a 10 minute taxi ride from Stroud coach stop, or 15 minute taxi from Cirencester coach stop. It is advisable to pre book taxi journeys from the coach stops. Local taxi details provided on request.

By air, Bristol airport 67 km, Birmingham airport 120 km. Heathrow airport (122km) is the most convenient if concluding the journey by public transport - by coach to Stroud or Cirencester, journey time from 1 hour 45 minutes plus taxi depending on departure time. Booking ahead advisable to coincide with flight times. Alternatively, Stroud Station is just under 2 hours from Birmingham airport by train

“The personal touches make this apartment stand out” We stayed here in February for a long weekend after a recommendation from some friends who stayed here last year. It was the perfect cosy place to stay! The attention to detail and personal touches are what really makes this place special and so homely. Incredibly comfy bed and luxurious bedding, lovely enormous bath and well equipped little kitchen, as well as dressing gowns and slippers to add to the relaxation! Location is good for a variety of walks and we found plenty of pubs a short drive away. I hope that we will return in the future, and we have recommended it to numerous friends. It is incredibly good value!

“We felt cosy and comfortable and cared for in the Port House Apartment.” Booking was simple. Communication was clear and prompt. We very much liked the property, particularly the luxurious bed and bath. We appreciated the attention paid to our comfort and needs. Tea and biscuits were there for us when we arrived. We shopped in the Waitrose. We visited some of the beautiful villages surrounding Stroud for walks and pub meals. We chose familiar places but there is so much more. I loved reading a book in the luxury bed with the rain beating down on the skylight. The only slight hitch for us was accessing the key from its compartment but help was instantly available by mobile.

“A great place to stay, highly recomeded.” A great small place to stay for a couple that is well located. A well kitted out place with a nice little kitchen and living area which are both lovely and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked and had all the bits and bobs you would need and there is a telly with a DVD player. The bedroom and bathroom are also very nicely furnished indeed. This combined with its location and ease of access make this place a great place to stay

“Bijou and beautifully fitted out in an delightful area of the country” A small but well thought out apartment, well equipped with lovely additional touches - bathrobes and slippers, milk, tea nnd coffee. The bathroom with a bath for 2 was a delight. It contained everything we needed for a comfortable stay and all the equipment needed to self cater. Maps and books of recommended walks were provded and we used them to do 4 really enjoyable and picturesque walks - on one 6 mile walk all we encountered were cows and not one person! We had lovely weather and the only drawbacks were the lack of outside seating area, we had to make do with the local pub's beer garden, and it's almost rigth on a busy road. We would definitely return

“A lovely apartment, ideal for couples with a huge bath for 2!” We had a great few days. The apartment was close enough to walk up to Minchinhampton and warm up in the pubs at the top. We also walked into Stroud. The apartment was not eyecatching from the outside but the inside was cosy yet modern with all the amenities one could hope for. We love The Cotswolds and would definitely consider staying here again
