Home description

The house is an old country house situated on a hill overlooking the best side of Lake Maggiore. The apartment (120 mtq.) is set in a courtyard and completely self contained on the first floor of the owners 100 years house recently restored. The owner lives in a separate apartment opposite in the same courtyard . It is ideal for al fresco dining day or night with barbecue. The apartment is two mins drive from Nebbiuno, a nice little town with shops, bank, post office, pharmacy, swimming-pool, playing area and just 15 mins drive fom the most famous towns Stresa and Arona. Some further beautiful swimming pools set in pine woods are just 10 mins drive. It is ideally placed for marvellous day trip to natural places nearby such as Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta.

To the tourists, who for the first time arrives in this location, is offered a breathless sight. The scenary is dramatic with mountains dropping down to the lake . The most famous town by the lake is Stresa with spectacular Borromean Islands:Isola Bella, Madre, Pescatori easily reached by boat all year round and it has become one of the maximum meetings of international tourism. Here art and nature are mixed together in a way that one respects the other, the hospitality is to boast to generation and cultural initiative, that happens in the course of the year , the most famous event is the celebrated International classical Festival held from July-September . Around the lake, there are 8 golf courses, one of the best is Club des Iles Borromees. Nearest ski resort is Mottarone altitude of 1500 metres. It's situated between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta one of the most beautiful natural balconies reachableby cable or car. It's possible to ski in Winter and go trekking, mountain biking in Summer. There are a lot of places to visit, on the Lake there are the Borromeo Islands on are many marvellous gardens to visit : Villa Pallavicino, Villa Taranto the interest for which is completely naturalistic with secular trees flowers an also animals.

Stresa area

Nebbiuno is a nice village overlooking Lake Maggiore and it offers warm and friendly Italian hospitality to people who want to know the real Italian character and not to meet just tourits as you will see by the Lake.
Just outside the house you can find a lot of nice and easy paths in the forest overlooking the Lake. You will enjoy a relaxing location far away from the tourists around the busy Lake but also so close to it.

By plane the nearest Airport is Milan Malpensa all companies (40 mins drive)
Airport of Bergamo Orio al Serio (Ryanair) 90 mins drive
By car motorway A26 exit of MEINA (3 mins from the house)

In the courtyard there are two sun-lounger, a table, and four chairs to relax sunbathing and an extra dining-room with a big table 12 seats.
Downstair there is the laundry, a little bathroom with shower and a gym-room
In the apartment there is one bed-room with a single bed, a bunk bed, the wardrobe and desk with lap-top internet access high speed (cot on request). A second en-suite bedroom with a double bed and wardrobe.
The main bathroom has got a bath with shower, wash-basin, bidet, wc. The second bathroom has got wash-basin, wc, bidet.
The dining-room has got a large table with 8 chairs, large sofa, fire-place TV and DVD player.
Fully fitted kitchen with fan-oven, 6-burner gas hob, fridge, freezer, table with 4/6 seats.

Off-road secure private parking available just beside the house.
As we are on a hill it's a bit cooler and mosquitos are no problem!

The owner on request collect the guests at the exit of the motorway (just 3 mins drive from the house) or wherever you want to show you the best way to get to the house.

On request the owner can make a delicious dinner served in your apartment with cheap homemade italian food and wine (great!!!!)

A non-reundable deposit of £.100 is payable upon booking by cheque that we will hold and return at your arrival
Total amount be paid at your arrival in cash (in Euros)
Heating in Winter ( from 10th October) to be paid separately €.10,00 a day
Cleaning cost euro 40,00

We really enjoyed our week. The accommodation is spacious and well equipped. The area is beautiful, we visited the castle, the isola Bella, Lake Orta, Mottarone (a scary journay) and we went on Maggiore Express which was well worth the money. All in all a lovely holiday. Sue -Torquay-
