The West Country / Somerset region
Blackberry Barn provides the perfect combination of ease of access to the major road networks and all of the attractions Somerset has to offer, with a quite and peaceful rural setting with amazing views across the Somerset countryside.
The small village of Sutton Mallet is only 7 miles from the M5 at Junction 23 and a stunning 10 mile cross country drive to the A303. Whichever route you choose, as you turn off the main roads and drop down the country lanes onto the Somerset Levels, you will instantly feel at home in "the heart of the countryside".
The enviable position within the Somerset Levels makes for wonderful leisurely walks and cycle rides. Our nearest pub is two miles away in the neighbouring village of Moorlinch. The Ring O'Bells is a traditional village pub, with the added benefit of doing excellent meals. This is a very pleasant cycle ride down the quiet country lanes, or an equally enjoyable walk across the fields.
Street area
Just 7.5 miles away is the town of Street, the home of Clarks Shoes, and the shopper's paradise of Clarks Village - Britain's first outlet village. Street also has a wonderful open-air swimming pool. Greenbank Lido is typical of the art-deco era in which they were so popular and is a great place to spend a sunny day! Neighbouring Street is Glastonbury with the Tor and Abbey proving very popular attractions. Similarly, Wells (Britain's smallest cathedral city), Cheddar (home to the Gorge and Caves) and Wookey Hole are all nearby.
About 25 minutes to the west of Sutton Mallet there are many beaches and seaside towns. Starting at Burnham on Sea, through the sandy beaches of Brean, Berrow and Uphill, and on to Weston-Super-Mare and Kewstoke/Sand Bay. Each has something different to offer, but all provide a great day out.
If it activities that you want, then you're spoilt for choice! All within easy reach, we can help you arrange paint-balling, clay pigeon shooting, jet/water skiing, wake boarding, quad biking, go-karting and horse riding/pony trekking.

Further details indoors: We understand that when you go away as a large group, you want to be together. So, at the heart of Blackberry Barn you will find the impressive galleried Banquet Hall, with vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, and solid oak floor. Whatever the reason for your get-together, your whole party will enjoy dining together in this amazing setting.
To take the strain out of cooking for a large group, we have tied up with "Banquet in a box". They are able deliver a wide range of gourmet meals, fully prepared, with very simple cooking instructions. You can take the credit for cooking a wonderful meal, without missing out on valuable time together! Plus, the kitchen is open plan with the family room, so you'll never feel isolated from the group!
Not that being in the kitchen is a chore: The 5-Star feeling continues with flagstone flooring, solid wood units and granite worktops. As you would expect it is impressively well equipped with range-style cooker, island sink unit, dishwasher, and american style fridge-freezer, as well as spectacular views over the rolling Somerset countryside!
As with the kitchen/family room, the living room is double aspect, and has equally wonderful scenic views. Both the living room and family room are equipped with wide screen digital TVs and PS2s/DVD players. There are sumptuous leather sofas, seating your entire party, and both rooms have a woodburner. Perfect for those cosy nights in front of the fire!
The theme of space, luxury and flexibility continues in the bedrooms. There are six very large bedrooms. Five of these have luxury en-suite bathrooms (3 with bath & shower, 1 with bath, and 1 with shower). All of the bedrooms have sumptuous double beds and sturdy, full size bunkbeds. In two of the bedrooms, the double beds are Queen Size (6ft wide), and also split into singles.
Further details outdoors: Blackberry Barn is set in 10 acres of gardens and paddocks, within the village of Sutton Mallet, at the heart of rural Somerset. Outside is an adventure play area, and plenty of space for letting of steam! There is also a BBQ and patio area, where you can relax and enjoy the views.
We know that you'll just appreciate the chance to all be together, but if you need any entertainment, there's the widescreen TVs with PS2s/DVDs, and plenty of games/DVDs. There's also a range of board games and toys.
For special occasions, we can help you arrange catering, beauty treatments, or a wide range of activities, including clay pigeon shooting, wake boarding, jet skiing, paint balling, quad biking, go karting etc.

All of our prices include all heating, hot water, linen and towels. Prices indicated are for a 3 night weekend break (Friday to Monday). Weekly bookings are available from Friday to Friday. Please add 33% to quoted prices for a 7 night stay.
Please note: Christmas & New Year quoted prices are for 7 nights (Friday to Friday) and include champagne and mince pies for your arrival.

3-night weekend breaks (friday to monday) are available all year round, priced at £1,950 off-peak, and £2,340 peak. That's equivalent to just £25 per person, per night, based on max occupancy, off peak, and £30pppn peak.
7-night weekly bookings (friday to friday) are priced at £2,600 off-peak and £3,120 peak (equiv to £14pppn off-peak and £17pppn peak).
Christmas and New Year weeks are priced at £5,460 for 7 nights (equiv to just £30pppn). Price includes champagne and mince pies for your arrival!
