"Well positioned, well appointed and in a beautiful part of the Highlands"

Located in the glen within sight of Loch Meig, this eco friendly house is extremely well appointed in a beautiful setting that is within easy reach of Inverness and Nairn. For those who prefer organic foods, the area is very well appointed. Great scenery for great hikes. If Winter was this good then the Summer must be incredible!

"Ideal setting, fantastic house!"

We were a group of 10 mature students looking to spend some time exploring the Highlands and chilling out and enjoying the scenery - we were NOT disappointed. The house is amazing, everything has been thought of, apart from food, drink, clothes and toiletries, there is really nothing else you need to concern yourself with.

The owner phoned us on our first evening to check that we'd arrived safe and sound and suggested a couple of walking routes which was much appreciated. He further ensured us that they were only a phone call away, which was reassuring :)

Our trip consisted of walking and taking in the beautiful mountains during the day and preparing and eating dinner and lounging by the wood burning stove at night. It was the perfect winter break away. Being able to watch the many deer roaming around nearby also added to the already idyllic setting.

Everyone found the bedrooms very comfortable and everything including the toilets and kitchen etc were extremely clean.

I could not recommend this property more. Many thanks for having us to stay at your lovely house :)

"Surrounded by the essence of pristine beauty and fresh air of Scotland...Rathad an Drobhair."

Our extended family--grandparents, parents and child--found the ideal in Rathad an Drobhair. The modern, eco-friendly and easy to use appliances worked well for all of us--from the completely set up laundry room to the large refrigerator--all made our vacation pleasant and relaxing. The setting on the hillside of the glen surrounded by trees offered red deer roaming through the front yard while enjoying the fire in the wood stove which the owners had arranged to start as soon as the match was struck. And the one-year old was accommodated in the high chair and box of toys. The bedrooms were en suite--very comfortable for private space. Although we did not use the sauna it looked ready to use and inviting. We are accustomed to country living so appreciated the beautiful drive to Rathad an Drobhair. I would recommend driving there in the daylight--especially if you are from out of the area.

"Perfect venue, perfect place, perfect peace."

Our family party of 7 was aged from 62 to 2. The house design was ideal for our needs. The large open plan living area worked very well. The building was safe for a 2 year old. There were toys and a cot if needed. The many bathrooms and 5 bedrooms met our needs exactly. All kitchen appliances worked well and were easy to use. The outside space was secure. Both the house and the surroundings were beautiful. The drive down Strath Conon from the main road was fine but slow, if you are not used to single track roads just be aware. As a venue for an extended family holiday I could not fault it.

"Excellent stay, beware of the miggies!"

We had a great time at Rathad an Drobhair. Beautiful and quiet environment, deer passing by the windows.. Facilities of the house were fine, great kitchen, living area. Beds are too hard for us and downstairs beds are too short for average Europeans, but we ubderstand something will be done about that.
Iain and Nia: Thanks for staying at your house!

We have good quality, standard size, orthopaedic mattresses which are firm and usually complimented. We'll include a note in our info pack so that guests are aware and can choose to bring a memory foam topper if they think it may be necessary. Thanks for the feedback!

"lovely house in quite surroundings"

A lovely house out the way in lovely quiet surroundings. There is plenty of room with everything you need. The kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of towels etc. It is a good base to start from with both the east coast and west coast in easy reach.
