The Central England / Cotswolds / Warwickshire region
Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone. Once home to William Morris, founder of the Arts and Crafts movement in 1871, this area now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists and crafts people working from studios and shops throughout the area, as well as many fine meals in the plentiful ‘gastro-pubs’ of this popular region.
The Stratford upon Avon area
Set in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside on the banks of the River Avon, the town of Stratford-Upon-Avon is steeped in history and culture. As the birthplace of the English playwright and poet, William Shakespeare, this is a popular tourist destination and is home to the world famous Royal Shakespeare company. The bard’s birthplace and other houses connected to his family are open all year round, giving visitors a great idea of what life in Tudor England was like. Bordered by beautifully landscaped parks, the river Avon itself is a hive of activity throughout summer months. With cruises, rowing and motor-boat rides, this waterway can by enjoyed by everyone. With Warwick and the Cotswold villages of Stow-on-the-Wold nearby, Stratford is a great base from which to explore the rest of this charming region.

Guestbook for 3540 - The Cow Pen
From start to finish this holiday was great. Upon arrival at the cottage we were greeted by the owner and shown around. Once we had settled in we noticed that homemade jams, preserves and apple juice had been left for us as a welcome gift which was lovely. The owner of this cottage also has a basket inside the property that is full of leaflets and maps for days out in and around the area. This was a great help to us and meant all that we needed was right at our fingertips.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
